And once again, if you think overreaction during a GDT is limited to the CBJ board, have a look around HF. Hell, look at Carolina's board when we went up 2-0. Everyone was turning off the game, drinking heavily, hating everyone, wanting to blow it all up. It's called being a fan. Sorry if that offends the uppity *****es around here who would rather do a drive-by complaining about the complainers than experience the highs and lows like everyone else.

Good god what a whining group of *****es. Can't be happy without winning them all huh. I have perused this site for years and used to appreciate the insights, but I can take no more of the childlike reactionary commentary. I know most will look at my post count and not care that I leave, but I can't believe the complete break down over 2 ****ing losses. The club is playing their best season to date and people can't be happy. I suggest you put your keyboards away for a bit and just enjoy the games. If I didn't know better I would think this was a sight for OSU fans.

To gauge the overall tone of a forum by collective posting during a GDT is silly. It's the height of foolishness to do so per the GDT of a game that turned bad the way this one did. Any chance you'd go back 3 or 4 GDTs and read about how the CBJ is making the conference finals before waving your hand in dismissal?

Of course then your conclusion, based on that GDT alone, would be equally foolish. So then you'd need to read the posting in the threads between games as well. After which you could then begin to see themes emerge, notice tendencies and maybe even have reactions you'd like to share with the group.

This is what I'm hoping anyway.

Can I add DSL?

Its universal….it’s defined as human nature to react with negative passion after a loss that we all knew should have been a win.

That said, after the Buffalo Bills the CBJ have been the worst team in the four major sport since 2000….

We have a right to be concerned about every loss…. we have earned it... ;)

Moving on. We stole one at the end of the game the last time we were in Carolina, and we lost one here in similar fashion.

Yes, some of the reaction in here is pretty extreme, but that happens in a GDT (and why I rarely post in a GDT while a game is going on). Personally, I prefer the Richards approach of staying even keeled, but I admit that is pretty boring. For entertainment purposes, the GDT's are often a good read .

I just hope the team learns from this. There's lots of hockey left and they still have their fate in their own hands. But they need to start working again before they dig another hole.

Just got back from the game and the comments reflect the psyche of a fan base that has 13 years of heartbreak as it's history. Sometimes i get worried when it comes to easy for us. 2 goals in no time plus a couple of good chances to go up 3 very early and didn't get it. From there it was pretty much hang on sloopy. I thought our D played pretty well for most of the game. Carolina had trouble getting anything going , but the problem was we couldn't either. Once again we were guilt of overpassing(Horton) and for what ever reason, we went from a dominate team to team that was just throwing the puck around the balance of the game.

I agree, I only come here after the game is over and when you read the thread all the way through in quick fashion, it's pretty ridic. Unfortunately, a lot of people can't get past the college football mentality of lose and the season is over. It was a bad collapse in the third, but it's not the end of the world. They won 8 in a row, Bob is 9-2 in his last 11 starts. Everyone just needs to relax a bit and enjoy this run. It's the best we've ever been in the standings at this point, including the playoff season. No need to bash Bob, no need to call for benchings of Calvert and Atkinson, no we don't miss Gaborik's floating, this is a solid team and they will bounce back. I just hope we can pull together wins over Ott, Wash and Fla before the west coast trip. We still have games in hand on everyone around us, save for Carolina.

That's not what he's saying. He's saying we're a board of overreactioners. We won 8 straight and we were talking cup and now we're talking about missing the playoffs after 2 losses in which we probably should have won. He's right. We are quick to make judgements with this team because we're still thinking 'same old Jackets' from the teams 2+ years ago. It's different this time.

I almost always agree with your posts and you are usually one of the few level headed posters, but didn't you post that games like this make you want to be sellers? haha.

CBJ are now out of the playoffs if they would be played today... 4th in the division and 9th in the conference... (no wild card)

Gotta win today....

Its a tenuous line we straddle. With 6 to go before the break we need to be on the up side. With the west coast trip looming winning the next 3 is CRITICAL. Critical I tell you.

Anyone else think Letestu was awful last night? Egads! As for overreacting, no one is worse than me. Sometimes I think I (we?) care more than the team does. Ridiculous, I know. I want to make the playoffs so badly just so everyone begins to take us seriously. We'll have a hard time with a rested Sens team tonight.

Exactly. I used to get upset at GDT posts that were ridiculous overreactions to events on ice, both positive and negative, but it really is a waste of time. Now, I just read, shake my head, and move on. Oh, now and then I pause in my head-shaking to add my own overreactions!

These threads are "stream of consciousness" and, due to the anonymous nature of the net, people feel free to vent as if they are in their own homes, watching with friends. That's part of the fun of it! If one doesn't like that sort of interaction, it's best that they avoid the GDT of all teams (in all sports!).

I am fairly sick and tired of the whole "over reaction" complaining on the back end of games. Discuss the game or just move on. This silly "season is over because of loss" reaction from the other side is crap. I don't think anyone said that and see that in a quote annoys the hell out of me. Is a misrepresentation of what I've been reading.

I am still pissed. If you read my posts, you'll see that I was both complementary and critical of the 18 skaters on the ice.

Why I am pissed about is that soft as hell 3rd goal and the constant love affair with a guy that this month gave us the wonderful Mason effect. Plays great for a 6 games stretch (some games better than others) and then let's in soft goals left and right.

Folks you were the people that wanted to play him like a Vezina winner. If you are going to do that, hold him accountable for gods sake. If he had simply taken the game to OT, I wouldn't have been this pissed.

A Vezina quality goal tender shuts that game down and finishes it off. He doesn't let that first goal in. He finds a way to get the two points. Bob is more on pace with his first year than last year. We need a 2.2 GAA/.923 Bob, not a 2.6/.913 Bob.

If we had lost in OT, I wouldn't have been upset. Bob let us down the last two games and I'm sick and tired of hearing from the media how Bob's saved us so many times... whatever. They've said that same thing 5 or 6 times this year.

If we want to be a playoff team we need better goal tending. We also need to finish teams off, we let them linger. But there is no excuse for that third goal. I knew were he was going with the puck and Bob seemed surprised by it. The puck was by him with almost no reaction from Bob. Nice individual play by Staal, but terrible reaction from Bob.

He is 9-2 in his last 11 starts with a sub 2 GAA and .940+ save percentage, what more do you want from him?? There are going to be some soft goals occasionally, every goalie lets them in or has a bad game. Brodeur let in 6 on Sunday and got yanked in the outdoor game in front of 45,000 people, he is a instant Hall of Famer and has Stanley Cup rings. Bob had a couple less than Bob like games. Stop crucifying the dude

No, I just would rather watch the game at the arena or on TV and not have my head buried in the computer dissecting every single play and missing half the game

Just because you can't multitask doesn't mean you should assume that others can't as well. It's really not hard to keep an eye on the game and talk with people about it without "missing half the game" on a multiple-screen setup. Hell, I had no problems doing it on a single-screen 20" laptop. I like speaking with the others on the boards and seeing what they are thinking in the moment.

This honestly sounds like a "tr00 fans" argument. Tr00 fans don't need to be online during the game, they watch the game and that's enough.

I have no problem with that. I have a problem with you dissecting every post that comes with the ebbs and flows of a game. Quit acting like you're better than everyone.

You're in trouble when your 4th line and 3rd defensive pair are the best. Especially when your starting goalie lets beach balls fly by him.
I'm done with this league for a while. The Jackets just can't lose games like that. Officials can't miss calls like they did. Bob can't give up goals like he did. All of that irritates me a bit too much.
A simple question again... What was the last game when the Wiz-Murray pair wasn't on the ice for a goal against? I've got a feeling they're always there, but they should have had such a game in the past, right?
