If the nose of the puck crosses over the red line inside the net it should be a goal. Instead of needing the whole puck to cross over. So somewhere between the NFL rule and the current NHL rule I guess.

I do think the NHL needs to adopt the NFL standard of breaking the plane to count as a score.

What does this mean?

They do have a standard. If it's across, it's a goal. If it isn't, it isn't. It's as straightforward as can be.

I don't see how this is any different other than increasing the scoring area by an inch or so. What will this accomplish, really?
