He’s been bullied off the puck and put on his ass a ton tonight. Standing along the walls and his perimeter play when the Avs aren’t pressing out on him isn’t really sustained pressure. With that said, most of our forwards have been bad tonight.

The thing with Kakko is that he isn't creating anything in the o-zone, but he's in that zone more than anybody else. Like through these two periods, only him and Brodzinski among forwards have a positive CF% (11-7 and 12-7 respectively), and only the two of them plus Kreider have positive xGF%. And this is pretty consistently what he does.

He isn't creating scoring chances, but he's not anywhere near the top of the list when it comes to ways we can improve our forward corps.
