There was an old WHA Kansas City Scouts, so the name has been used previously in hockey. I think I still have a sticker for the team from an old hockey card pack somewhere. I wonder if there's a copyright issue? I don't mind scouts myself.Outlaws does work for Utah. Butch Cassidy was born there and he and his band the Wild Bunch (including the Sundance Kid) did plenty of "work" there.
I like Utah Scouts in reference to Jim Bridger, Jedediah Smith and John C. Fremont among others who explored and trapped in the area. Explorers and Trappers would be good too.
Looks like Ehlers is out tonight:
Thanks @buggs, it will be a year ago this week that she passed away. When my father passed away, I took care of my Mom, well actually, she took care of me. Anyway, I always took her with me on holidays, we went everywhere, including twice a year to Las Vegas. She liked to play the penny slots and she did enjoy the buffets as well. Our last trip together was just before the pandemic and it was quite the adventure! I'll make it into a GDT perhaps...There was an old WHA Kansas City Scouts, so the name has been used previously in hockey. I actually like the name Yeti for them but I get why it may be an issue. I also understand Yeti aren't North American and how Colorado may take unkindly to the notion.
As an aside @macmaroon as always thank you for the GDT, your work is immensely appreciated. I noted you said your late mother. Obviously I don't pay that much attention but in your tenure as master of the GDT I believe you traveled with her somewhat recently, so my belated condolences to you.
I'll be at this game and given who I'm attending with, likely to be 17 sheets to the wind by the end of the first. Also attending Sunday, which may have to be a dry Sunday for recovery.
GJG.
Thanks for the education. Just did a little research. That KC team is now the Devils by way of the Colorado Rockies. There was an old WHA Kansas City Scouts, so the name has been used previously in hockey. Nice try but the Stormin Mormons is amazing and they shut out the Wild last night. I guess they are better than their recordUtah Speckled Back Barking Spiders
Actually, the KC Scouts were an NHL team not a WHA team (during the time when the two leagues "co-existed").There was an old WHA Kansas City Scouts, so the name has been used previously in hockey. Couldn't you say that about alot of teams that loses their captain and one of their top 6 forwards at the same time. The Utah Moronis!!!!
Shortened to Moron
Amazing how quickly our depth evaporates...
Agreed - just a bit eye opening... not many teams could handle - maybe LA and Dallas?Couldn't you say that about alot of teams that loses their captain and one of their top 6 forwards at the same time.
So Ehlers is out for tonight's game according to Arniel "under the weather."
No its a Chevy/Ehlers bet ... if Jets win without Ehlers its $7 million per year ... if the Jets lose its $8 million per year.OMG EHLERS TRADE INCOMING!!!
Now I can open that Welcome to Winnipeg, Matt Barzal! thread I've been carrying round in my back pocket.
Will be nice to see Lambert back up. That's a nicely balanced 4th line.
Count me in for the liking this line adjustment!Yeah doesn't make much sense, Arniel reminds me of Bones with his line up choices at times, your top 6 should always have as much skill guys as possible, I would run something like the below if Ehlers is out.
KFC-Scheifs-Vilardi
Fetts-Lambo-Nino
Barron-Kupari-Apples
Gus-Vlad-Iafallo
But WTF do I know, I am just an armchair coach.
Trappers sounds like a team from Ile Des Chenes LoLOutlaws does work for Utah. Butch Cassidy was born there and he and his band the Wild Bunch (including the Sundance Kid) did plenty of "work" there.

When you’re on the high seas you to tend to miss stuff…Thanks for the info @savagefund, I appreciate it. I had no idea that Butch Cassidy was born in Utah and did some "work" there...
I know when we win i dance.....With no Lowry we are likely to be a little bit successful for the next stretch while he's out.
Wait... that's how you would describe our recent play with him in the lineup... gulp.
Hopefully anger, embarrassment & revenge are great motivators.
We need the #1 line to save us and for one of Cole's many shots that hit the post to bounce in instead.
When we win... we dance...
