Owen Sound Attack 2024-25 Season, Part I

So I think the fee that the Attack were unwilling to pay to get Jet was 50k from the reports I saw, but I could be wrong. Can they sign Dec to an A card when his season is over with St.Andrews? Or not until the Attacks off-season?
I believe once St.Andrews season is completed Dec can be moved freely. If I remember this was the case with George & St. Mary's a few years back. Owen Sound could have recalled George for the playoffs if St.Mary's was eliminated (They were not) - Unsure if the rule is applicable to Regular Season & rather unfamiliar with the Prep School season length.

I may be off on the exact figures but I believe in the past, "development fees" paid to USHL clubs for player release was in and around $10,000 - $15,000. This year it was rumored that those figures jumped exponentially to $25,000 to $50,000 range. In the case of Jet, that was mentioned as part of the rational for why he wasn't in Owen Sound this year after the NCAA eligibility changes. I believe they can sign him in the offseason and avoid those fees which DeGray seemed to hint at would be the plan.

I expect so much more from Nansi and Waddick.. Nansi gets a 2 on 1 and trips over his own feet and Barrie goes the other way and scores.. he has been a major disappointment for me so far. Another one goal loss..

Are you jet’s dad?

Team hangs around with Kitchener then boom waddick takes a DUMB penalty and just like that it’s 2-0 Rangers. Can’t be taking stupid penalties being a young team.

Let's see 21/40 /17 together tommorow.

Let's see Kopro with the start.

Switch up the blueline on PP.

I'd try Alec Leonard.

He's not going to get a ton of points, but he's defensively responsible and knows how to protect the blueline.
And hey why not ?

Taking Wray out of the mix really hurt the top two lines tonight I thought. Wray had done a nice job with Hookey and Delisle since the McCue trade and the Mbuyi and Zarawski second line was clicking pretty well. I don't know what the answer is but I'd like to see your suggestion for a game and see what they can do.

Have to go to Koprowski tomorrow. George was really busy tonight with too many grade A's against. I'd personally like to see Koprowski get a game a week the rest of the way to keep him involved and rest George a bit as he burned out late last season.

Scott Wray gave some injury updates to Matt Hermiz pre game on radio. Sounds like Wray is out long term, believe the quote was "week to week, if not month to month". Tersigni is week to week and Arnett is day to day.

I thought you wanted a rebuild? Thats what this is, a rebuild.

Ive loved this year personal

I’m all for the rebuild.. just mad about all the shorthanded goals they give up
Unbelievably unnecessary penalties.

Kids not playing positional hockey.

PowerPlay that doesn’t work.

And the officiating was just incredibly one-sided last night.

Either the kids aren’t listening or the coach can’t coach.

Yeah it looked like Wray had more than just his pride hurt fighting Aitcheson (no doubt his teammates loved it but he went down extra hard after thebone punch) and wouldn't be surprised if somethings broken.

Koprowski definitely needs to start - I know they're giving George all the tough games but he does look like he's tyring.

I agree with the above about Waddick, even in a rebuilding year, you can't accept penalties like that especially from veterans. Took the Attack out of a competitive first period. We've got vets that are playing the right way even when they aren't scoring. Those penalties don't do the team any favours.

Or....the youngest team in the league is having growing pains (totally expected) against upper echelon OLDER teams...peaks and valleys are totally expected during this time....stay the course, future is really bright

I only have 1 word REBUILD! Young team and even many of our vets are in spots they haven't been in,hence the P.P issues. This group is IMHO doing better than expected. The old as the hills cliche applies here " You have to learn to lose before you learn to win" by competing right to the end I think there doing that. Yes some of the penalties they take are frustrating but it's hockey.

And the Leafs have been re-building for almost 60 years… there’s a lot that can be done to make the team playoff positioned.

??? Gave up 11 more shots, outworked for long stretches. Gave up many breakaways/partial breaks, had 1 more PP, and the officiating was one sided? I remember Swick needing a new stick and the OS player not and Swick going to the box for a slash (may have been the right call, I'd need a replay). Thought the offiating was pretty good consider Ferguson was out there.

In reference to Swick's penalty, that was deserved. He was the one making the slash and ended up breaking his own stick over Pertrovski's stick which was knocked out of his hand by the slash.

I thought the officiating was a total non factor. I had no issues. Better team won, simple as that as far as I'm concerned.
