Toughest game in a little bit vs Windsor tomorrow. This will be a true test to see how far this team has come especially defensively/structurally. Obviously not expecting a win, but hope to see us bring the game to them a bit.

Fischer-Young will have to be at their absolute best vs the best line in the league with Greentree/Protas. Same with Surzycia.

See what the boys got!

Windsor has 1 line. Shut em down and we have an advantage. We are a defensive team see how that matches up. Big PK test for Matsos see how things changing and coming. I think it's a closer match up than standings show. Especially how buzz been playing, lines are starting to look good up and down and it's going to be a good game.
Still think buzz younger, not afraid and playing good hockey right now not counting em out tonight.

Windsor definitely has more than 1 line they are a deep team upfront. Yes their top line is absolutely elite and probably the best in the league, but the players on their second line have more points than anyone on our team and their third line is pretty solid too.

You guys might catch a break tonight as the rumor is the Spits have not totally shaken the flue bug yet. It will be interesting to see who dresses and who has any gas in the tank.

Wow Letang going with Maillet tonight. With Owen Sound tomorrow not sure I agree with the decision lol. But I guess they wanna see what he's got vs an elite team?

Same F lines as last week.
Bridgewater & Omeri back in, Bodin & Barr out. I thought bodin would definitely be in vs a big team like Windsor.

Nick hasn’t been feeling good the past few days so that’s why Evan gets the start.

Really solid opening 20. Helluva shot by Hurt! Maillet strong although I'd prefer him to stay in the net from here on out lol.

Really limiting their time and space. Gotta keep that up.

I've noticed that Letang is line matching a lot more. Fischer and Young saw a lot of the top line. Really good start

Windsor definitely controlled that period but still up 1! Fischer is unstoppable lol.

Maillet has been amazing. See what the 3rd brings.

Was a point but 3rd was stinker.
That penalty by lueke started all windsor momentum. He needs to have some accountability for his stupid penalties.
Filak Di iorio and bridgewater caught chasing on OT goal
We will take the 1 point against windsor. Now if Letang can get some points in owen sound. That's is yet to be seen and let's hope they take positives out of that game. Seemed more focus on defensive side of puck than offensive side.

I'll take that result. Sting battled their asses off all night. Definitely got put on their heels in the 3rd, but they simply can't match Windsor when they are clicking like that.

Still managed to tie it up and get a point. Maillet was awesome once again. They need to give the kid more starts. Not anything against Surzycia who's been unreal, we just gotta see how good Maillet is. He's been rather impressive.

I thought Fischer-Young, Brown-Beamish-Filak did an unbelievable job against Protas and Greentree. Held them to 0 points. I'm gonna guess they haven't had many nights that "quiet". O'Brien-Hurt rock solid as always. 3rd pair struggled a bit which I expect vs a deep, big team like WSR.

PK great again. Huge kill in the 3rd to keep them within 1 before Edwards tied it.

Onto OS! Hopefully bring their best and take 3/4 on the weekend.

While I agree he needs to cut down the penalties, I do love his style of play and effort at being a pest.

I also thought it was utter BS Windsor didn't get an even up penalty. 3 guys jumped at him & 1 put him in a full headlock and slammed him. Should've been 4on4 IMO.

But he needs to tow the line better for sure.

I will take a point against a very tough Windsor team. The Spits are a big team that wore the Sting down throughout the game. They'll be a tough out in the playoffs.

Maillet was the big bright spot for the Sting. He kept his compusure after Windsor made it 3-2. Made 3 or 4 big stops after that when the team really started to break down defensively. Maillet has a .902 sv% in his last four starts. I'd love to see him start at least 8 of the 24 remaining games. We need to see what he's got. Doesn't hurt Surzycia to have some nights off either.

Brown and Hurt had some good moments. Brown didn't come away with any points but played well in a tough matchup. He had a really big chance in front to make it 2-0 at the end of the first and had a deceptive shot that almost beat Costanzo in the second. Hurt handled Windsor's physicality and wasn't afraid to go back at them with hits of his own. He had the key first goal of the game and had a smooth-skating rush that caught my eye later in the game.

I agree that Luecke post whistle penalty issues need to be addressed by the coaching staff. I wouldn't say it cost them the game tonight (WSR probably still would have won without that penalty) but it certainly didn't help. He doesn't need to be scratched but someone needs to tell him that to pick his spots a little better. Maybe tell him to get pest lessons from Filak lol.

Tomorrow's game in Owen Sound is a big chance to get 3/4 points this weekend. They have to take advantage of these games if they want to get the 5th or 6th spot in the West

If you take out the 9 goals against in that horrendous game in Saginaw where he was left out to dry he is 4-5-1 with a 0.891 sv% in his starts.

He's fallen victim to 4or5 goals late in losses this yr too where the team quit/conceded defeat (@ sag the first time, @ KGN both come to mind) which lowers the stats pretty hard.

Also got smoked down in Kitchener where he didn't stand a chance as we got thoroughly outplayed without Fischer.

I know these are excuses or a bail out for him, but I've been more than happy with Maillet. He's had 1 legitimately bad start where he looked really shaky/off and that was vs FLT in a 6-5 win. Outside that I think he's given them quality goaltending especially when the team is actually playing in front of him.

Totally agree he needs more starts. We gotta see what we have. Back to back great starts vs Erie + Windsor should give Letang confidence in him. If Nick was to sick to go tonight I gotta think we see Maillet vs OS. Hopefully he can keep up his good play.

Hurt was great. His skating is really underrated. Couple of those rushes were brilliant. O'Brien really communicates with him & I think that's helped 72 a ton. Loved after Hurt's goal O'Brien was mauling him on the bench. Clearly they've gotten pretty close. Both play so fricken hard & never back down to anyone. Do whatever it takes to win. What a 2nd pair they've become.

Maillet goes again tonight in OS. Same lines except Franceschetti is in for Hall. Barr in for Omeri.
I know Suryzcia is abit sick, but either way with malliet’s good play recently I would imagine they ride the hot goalie the rest of the way, whoever is playing best starts until you have a bad game then it’s the other goalies turn. It would give them the best chance to win, and also give maillet good experience and playing time in the final stretch. Which will be huge for his development.

Bit sloppy, but got a lead. 2nd line is absolutely buzzing tonight. Great play on the first goal, especially by Di Iorio to win a battle then chip it to 12. 2nd goal great patience by Manza to find Barr then a lucky bounce for Di Iorio.

Maillet strong so far. Big save with 2 seconds left to leave the period up.

What a huge swing to end a period. A dominant shift from L1 & somehow they get a breakaway, nice stop by Maillet but they call PS & ring the bar. Then Hurt snipes another one with under 1 second left to go up 2.

Manza 1G/2A thru 2! I think this kid can play! lol. Boys need to tighten up in the 3rd though. Don't hate how they are defending around the net, but to many open guys up top.

Absolute choke job. Unbelievable. Completely stopped playing after going up 2. Let OS do whatever they wanted.

2 losses vs a non playoff team is exactly what costs you at the end of the season.

Just freaking brutal. Wasted a stellar outing from Maillet who was left out to dry all 3rd period.

Awful.
