I would put this at zero percent happening. The Arena District is the only shinning star in our bleak downtown and the city and Nationwide won't let anything deter that.

"bleak downtown"?

Short North, Park Street, Brewery District, Columbus Commons, German Village, Gay St, Old Towne East, Scioto Mile, have you not been there lately?

Nationwide has too much at risk. Besides a few condos, everything else in the district is owned by NRI (Nationwide Realty) and commands a very premium rent.

if you take the Jackets out of there, unless some other big anchor (NBA, etc) comes then suddenly that real estate (and rents) would fall by 25-50%.

Also since the city/county took over the arena they aren't even n the line for that.

So yeah it's 0% they will leave.

This team is painful to watch right now. In the Ottawa game there were stretches where the CBJ dominated possession time, then BOOM, the Sens skate down and get a quick goal. Last night, other then the first 10 minutes of the game, the Leafs skated circles around the Jackets. I would conservatively put 3 of their goals directly on Bob's shoulders. The other 3 were pretty much on the D. I cannot emphasize how bad Prout has been. Connauton as well. Prout even looks like when he is near the puck he has no idea what to do.

I thought Jenner, for the most part, looked good last night. Saad, and Hartnell as well. Foligno is working hard, but is playing frustrated. Murray, and Golo were the only defensive pairing that looked like they knew what they are doing. I actually thought Toots looked OK, but he is stuck with a useless D-mate. JJ, and Savard were awful.

And then there is Bob. It starts at the net folks, and Bob is horrible. He couldn't stop a beach ball right now. He is not making any big saves. What the hell happened to his vaunted new training program back in mother Russia? Just kidding, because this is all, obviously, in his head. He has no focus, no confidence, and no trust in his teammates.

As to the coaching, is there any? Because this team is playing like there is no game plan. You don't know what you are going to get in the next 5 mins of the game. These bad starts are HCTR trademark. Happens every season under him and this season puts an ! on it.

Will we be out of the play-off race by Halloween? Never say never.

Sorry, but I am just so fed up with this ****.

Corsi For % 5vs5 ranks us 4th BEST in the league (through 4 games) and Fenwick has us 7th yet we were -10 at even strength:

http://stats.hockeyanalysis.com/teamstats.php?disp=1&db=201516&sit=5v5&sort=CFPCT&sortdir=DESC

So, I guess most advanced stat heads would answer yes to that. An advanced stat head should feel free to correct me if I'm wrong:).

Imagine playing with 5 forwards and 1 defenceman, no goalie. You'll probably get off way more shot attempts than the other team, and have a big lead in zone time. But you'll get outscored most of the time.

Short version: Corsi is meaningless when the D routinely makes awful mistakes and the G is a sieve. You can't say we've been unlucky.

So, does anyone else think this team looks really tired in the third period?

Also, someone hit a piece of glass really hard in Row A of Section 216 and it broke and fell into the club/loge area below. Did anyone else see that? Did anyone get hurt?

Yes they look exhausted halfway through each game. We have a weak bottom six and TR isn't rolling his lines. So of course they're tired. Every other team is rolling 4 nowadays and we've gone in the other direction. It also doesn't help that we have too many guys (like Foligno) trying to be superman instead of trusting their teammates.

You do not want Torts. As bad as Richards is, Torts will be worse. The guy is not meant to coach in the NHL anymore. I hated watching the Canucks with him

I'm going to guess that you're a Canucks fan and you have every reason to feel this way. However, Torts was never a good fit for that team. This team is quite literally exactly his kind of team. The hesitation is whether he's gotten any better at delivering the message so his players don't tune him out after a couple of seasons.

Not trying to come across the wrong way, since Johansen is one of my favorite players in the league. But what is up with him tonight? He looks so lazy and uninterested so far. He should be dominating the Leafs

Unless he has the puck, he coasts.

yeah, most of the problems are coming from terrible defensive breakdowns so they should definitely sit the best player on the team.

This is my "favorite" Johansen play of the year so far. When there ARE breakdowns, it is the forwards job, ESPECIALLY THE CENTER'S, to help out the defense.

Dubi is one of the few who is trying

dark horse blockbuster....Joey, do we want to pay him 9 mil....

He isn't playing like the best player on the team. He has shots and doesn't take them. Dubi is much better than Joey right now.

Today only Dubi line plays Jackets style hockey. Pleasure to see. Thank You, Dubi.

Two nice feeds from Johansen on that power play, one to Saad for a good shot and the one to Hartnell for the score.

The next Lemieux!!

Pretty much this. Wasn't he the one that benched Johansen in the AHL playoffs?

Shoulda kept Anisimov and traded Johansen for a legit D man and another good young promising forward.

Rick Nash and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Ryan Johansen and the Columbus BLue Jackets.

Dubi should be the captain and the top line center on this team. IMO he always has been.

No one was hurt but it was a mess. The guy did not hit the glass he grabbed the top of it and shook it back and forth.

Was anybody ejected or warned for shaking the glass?

It happened right after the 5th goal was given up so it was near the end of the game. I was still around about 10 mins after the game and CPD was taking statements from the guys sitting there and the people right behind him. From what I over heard the people behind him felt it was more then an accident.

You definitely heard/saw more than I did. I wonder if that guy is a STH
