Worst team in the entire NHL. Only team in the East without a point. Worst goal differential in the league and it ain't even close.

A bad Toronto team skated circles around them.

Time to break out the train wreck avatars.

Jarmo doesn't have the balls to hire Torts. He'd also never bring in a coach with Torts' style because some of Jarmo's most beloved players couldn't handle what Tortorella dishes out.

I don't see how promoting any of the other coaches to HC would help either. This team needs new blood at the helm, the total opposite of Richards' deer-in-the-headlights confusion. He literally looks like a 2-year-old that wandered into Nationwide trying to figure out where to go and what to do.

Still shake my head at that Savard contract. Another albatross.

I know the defense is in everyone's talking points , but 3 goals tonight were soft and on Bob . I mean goals no Nhl gosling should be giving up . Nothing that breaks a teams will faster than soft goals

I'll point out the positives:

Hartnell played well, and was rewarded with two points. Goloubef and Murray was actually a stellar pairing (imagine that) and should give the team at least a slight glimmer of hope on the blue line. The only question I have is, why did it take so long to get Goloubef into the lineup?

The fourth line wasn't a hindrance and had some nice shifts, but failed to make enough of a difference. Saad skated hard to begin with, but by the end of the game looked deflated.

The rest? A bunch of soft, gutless efforts, shrouded in mediocre shift after mediocre shift, floating around and watching one of the least talented teams in the league skate circles around them.

Unacceptable. There needs to be some BIG changes, and fast. It won't get any easier as the season wears on ... if the team is to bounce back and play up to their potential, it's now or never ... and I fear that this fanbase (aside from the die-hards I know and love on this board) simply won't take many more losing seasons surrounded by promises of great things.

I don't want Torts because it seems to me at his last couple of stops that it's more about Torts than his team. He seems to divide a team more than bring it together. I know that the Jackets need some serious straight handed guidance, but I don't think the taskmaster approach makes sense with the current Jackets team.

Richards has seemed to let guys not be accountable. Maybe he has a directive from above to keep playing guys that either aren't giving it their all or make huge gaffs that lead goals against. Maybe he doesn't want to discipline guys for fear of more losses, hence losing his job. His handling of Bob goes against most logical thinking.

The next coach doesn't have to be a task master, just one to instill a system that makes sense. Hold guys accountable and be able to get lines and pairs that give the best chance to win. Also be able to match lines and make in game adjustments.

Torts is the dumbest guy to ever coach in the modern era.

His line-matching is lulz. etc.

I know what "type" of guy we mean when we says Torts, and I don't disagree. But literally Torts? Come on. The incestuous nature of the league is the only reason that guy has been employed since the early 2000's.

Yeah I don't think I want anything to do with Torts either, and fully expect Larsen to be interim coach until Julien gets fired. (That second part is mostly wishful thinking)

Fair enough. As I've mentioned before, I don't know a lot about the game, but I am still puzzled why Bob started the first three games. I understand that back-to-back starts are not uncommon, but it seems so strange to me that a goalie would be in net three times in four days--good, bad, or ugly.

I'll keep watching, listening, whatever. I'll make it down to the arena once or twice, just like every year. I'll buy a t-shirt or a hat. But this, this is awful. This is worse than any season I can think of, and I've been doing this since a 5-3 loss to Chicago in 2000.

And they won't fix it this year, will they?

After Bob's game one meltdown, he had to start game two at NYR to get back on the proverbial horse that just bucked him off. After losing at NY in game two letting in more bad goals, not saying all were his fault, Bob needed to sit for Buffalo game. Then after getting embarrassed he gets the Ottawa start. Richards was obviously trying to get a win for Bob and get his confidence back. It has all backfired and most of us armchair GMs told Richards not to do it! So he starts him again tonight and Bob would probably like to take a vacation in the Baltics about now.

The mismanagement is telling.

Everyone keeps saying the usual suspects, but they're forgetting Andy Murray and Davis Payne, both of which I believe have history with JD

Andy Murray is a good coach, but he always looks like he's constipated. I also just realized he's coaching Western Michigan right now.

Andy Murray is at Western Michigan now. Not sure where Davis Payne is, but I don't know if I like those choices.
