I'm not worried about that, but I can understand the sentiment. Anyone who has been here should be able to see the progress. The new guys should just focus on getting better and see that there is a lot of growing talent.
Not dismissing you POV though. If they are competitors, they should be frustrated but it's how they harness that mentality and energy that will determine their long term success.
Michael Jordan as an example was a part of some HORRID Bulls teams before they turned that corner. Those shitty years helped to mold him and that team into what was the best teams to maybe ever play the game. Where there are struggles, there is growth.

Mason McTavish is really, really good. He’s playing with a couple guys that are best suited on a 3rd line, he isn’t getting 1st PP time, and he’s still driving play and producing offense

LaCombe played awesome until that brutal near giveaway to Pastrnak which seemed to rattle him a bit after. Needs to shake that one off because he's been very good thus far. Getting overshadowed by Minty but he's been a very nice surprise since coming out of college.
At least the games are entertaining. Like this looks like an NHL squad this year and they are playing hard. Massive improvement over last season.

First two periods were a lot of fun. 3rd was a cluster f. Turned it off to see the 9th inning of the baseball game. Pretty decent sports night for me.

Minty and Lacombe both being nhl ready is exicitng. But yea that coughed up puck to pasta made me yell. Of all the people to gift the puck in the slot you pick a top 3 league scorer lol

Good point, but I'd say our "vets" have been the weakest link.
I’m beyond pissed with that game. Cronin needs to separate Z and Terry. 1 productive game in 5 is not good enough.

Thought he was good yesterday as well, despite some sentiment I saw. The zone entries he’s generated have been amongst the best of anyone on the team.

We went 5/5 on the PK tonight! I'll take that improvement.
With that said, Lyubushkin has been a sneaky good pickup. Curious if we'd want to re-sign him or are we going to push Luneau next season? (It's very unlikely Luneau will be here all season.)

He’s skating amazing. You can tell how hard he’s worked on it and it’s paying off. He just strikes me as someone who is just going to work his ass off and get better and better

Really the power play is the big weak spot for me. Even strength we have outplayed 3 dare i say contenders(definitely did not outplay vegas). But at even strength we were better than carolina dallas and boston. If we could just get a little power play help… even mediocre … we would be much better off

LaCombe plays a two-way game, with more of a focus on defense and defensive outlets. He isn't aggressive offensively like Minchy, but he should be. I think that's what Cronin was alluding to when Cronin said LaCombe can close the gap tighter to create turnovers as well as use that speed on offense.
LaCombe's offense improved year after year in college. Hopefully, his offense will continue to develop and develop that aggressive offense.
During the game, LaCombe ended up pairing up with Fowler and Vaaks moved down with Gudas. When that happened, I had difficult time figuring out which one was playing RD.

Pretty much this. I love the effort and the grit, but the bottom-6 gives me absolutely no faith they’re gonna score. Can’t rely on half the lineup being a net neutral in the 2023 NHL.
