Why is Shesterkin coming back in now? They’re down by the same number of goals as they were a minute ago.

The logic of these coaches with empty nets are questionable.

If Laf & Kakko were even 50% as good as advertised it would’ve been a just fine rebuild. Just imagine this team with Hughes & Stutzle. We tore it down and accumulated futures, those futures just turned out to be massive busts.
Hughes no doubt, and Stuetzle maybe were better prospects sure. But they were also properly developed, instead of being pushed into 3rd liner roles, taught to play grinder defensive no mistake hockey after being THE MAN before the draft in juniors and in Liiga.

Saying "if we just had Hughes" is such a f***ing copout, just like blaming Igor for this game is. There are far deeper issues on this club that are not solved by simply swapping Hughes/Kakko or Laf/Stuetzle.

The Rangers will lose the next 10 and fox will lose an eye as a repayment to the devil because kakko scored a garbage time goal

I really think we need to shake up this locker room in June.

1) Trade Trouba. Hes frankly been a shit leader. Hes a weird guy socially and yes while he lays some big hits, he really is just a strange guy. I need a captain who cares more about winning than painting and his wifes career.

2) trade keandre. Total headcase and better to tradr him now when he still has value.

3) trade kreider and ask zib to waive his nmc. Mika probably would cost assets to move.

4) trade lindgren for assets and sign zadorov

5) sign whoever the biggest scumbag free agent is. We need to bring some life to this dead lockerroom. This locker room has about as much energy as a sloth.

You're like 50 and mostly watched hockey for the fights in the 90s, I'm guessing.

When the health of your organization hinges on two teenagers being exactly what you needed them to be, you put yourself in a bad position.

I'm not convinced Drury is the right man or has done enough good just yet, but Gorton's tenure has to go down as an abject failure.

His project did nothing. Others have touched on it: all of the big name players (Kreider, Zibanejad, Panarin, Fox) either already existed, were readily available in free agency, or fell into our laps. Who from the rebuild, that required the rebuild to obtain, is making a difference? The guys that look the most promising are Drury's picks.

We had four years of the team being run into the ground and this is the result. I'm not sitting here saying James Dolan is a hockey visionary but he fired Gorton for a reason.

Every team in the league was giving Mika that deal. Can say whatever you want in hindsight but the optics of letting you’re “1C” go whilst trying to compete is a death sentence as a rookie GM
Congrats to Chris for dying a slow death instead of a quick one. That’s a real win for the fans!

I’m not criticizing the initial move made on Mika. But any smart asset manager realizes that you need to cut your losses quickly. That’s a level of discipline I hope he’s willing to show.
