And what exactly is the value of a nobody cares President trophy
I knew full well they'd get eliminated vs Mtl and they did.
Right then and there the team began going downhill..
And yes the Boychuk trade didn't help. However how much of a difference would boychuk make today?....hardly any
How much Seguin?- we still wouldn't be a true contender(too many over the hill) but lots closer

They should have just traded everyone after Savard got hurt.

You knew that a really good team with lots of postseason success would fail so they shouldn't have even tried? Cool.

Nope I just knew that when it really counted (playoffs) they'd be outskated which they were because they're awfully slow. .....
But who trades young stars????
The Bruins do
Why?
Talent donors

Defensive breakdowns are going to happen when you take the foot off the gas. They took their foot off the gas in the 2nd period. Stopped sending 2 fore-checkers, stopped skating lanes. Once a team goes into that defensive shell to protect a lead it is very rare that they can find that extra gear again. Happens all the time in this league. It was an entertaining game, the Detroit fans at the game got what they paid for.

I realize it's just superstition, but I really really want those 3rd jerseys gone. Every time i watch a B's game and see them I think "oh god they're gonna lose". It doesn't matter what the score is, I think they're gonna end up losing when they're wearing them.

Who is their Pro level Scout. He and anyone else doing scouting for the Bruins at the pro level need to be gone.

Damn good question. The last time that I asked that I was attacked because people didn't understand that I was talking about their pro-scouting not the scouts responsible for picking talent at the draft. I still don't know the answer but I believe that Tommy McVie is STILL on their payroll FFS. IMO this is an incredibly weak link in their capacity to evaluate talent prior to trades and of course it makes trading for current players a crap shoot at best and a disaster too much of the time.

Hey Cam and Donny, Brooks Brothers just called and they want their empty suits back!

:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

First period: :vhappy: :vhappy: :handclap:

Second period:

Third period: :pullhair: :madfire:

Overtime: :shakehead

Shootout: :help:

Postgame: :baghead: :surrender

Perfect!:yo:

They need another day off...poor millionaires

:snide:
Let me know when Clode is finally fired.

I've been waiting 4 years. It's time. Worked for the Pens. Right the ship with a new voice.

Oh really? So you are of the school of thought that anyone is better than Julien? I'm not opposed to a new coach but if it's Sad Sack Sacco it'll suck big time. Mike Sullivan isn't available and IMO I don't trust Neely to make this huge a decision. I'm not even sure if Sweeny has what it takes to make the right decision either but that's what we're left with.

Claudes fault though, right?

What I see:

Backes loses a battle for the puck and it goes to the wall. Spooner supports and takes the body ( correct play ) as the puck moves down low . Spooner sees Morrow about to get the puck and waits for the out pass along the wall ( again, the correct play by Spooner ) while Backes drifts down low to support but over commits once he sees Morrow lose the puck. The puck comes back to the original opposing player as Spooner can't collapse to support fast enough.

Most of the blame here goes to Backes. He loses the original battle for the puck, then over commits and heads to the wrong side of the net ( looks like he's trying to anticipate where the player is going with the puck ).

Morrow loses his battle down low in what should have been an easy play: corral the puck and send it along the boards to Spooner. I can't tell what happens to the puck other than it obviously gets by Morrow. He makes the correct play by moving to the front of the net as the puck carrier takes it behind the net, but is too slow to react to the pass.

The optics look bad for Spooner because it appears he's not supporting and the eventual goal scorer is a few feet ahead of him. But, he makes the correct play twice in this sequence. You'd like to see him with more hustle going after the goal scorer, but Backes not going to the front of the net and Morrow's inability to collect the puck is not his fault. He got caught flat footed expecting the others to do their job while waiting along the wall where he should be and was too slow to react once Morrow and Backes crumbled down low.

I thought David Backes yelling at guys was supposed to stop nights like tonight?

Bruins need to trade for a defencemen, plain and simple. It might be a painful trade, Bergeron, Marchand, Pastrnak, Krejci, Rask, any prospect etc. But our defence will never win anything and we need talent.

Not that different. High end talent surrounded by **** and younger guys a year or two away from contributing.

Dave Lewis was really a nice guy who accepted the wrong job at the wrong time.

I am surprised he never got another shot in the NHL.

Loved seeing Backes on the ice in OT, good grief. The winds of change are blowing, at long last.

This one is on Tuukka, just like a lot of his recent games, he is not elite sorry to disappoint all his fans, but he is not the goalie we saw at the first of the year. If the Bruins could get a good starter maybe Bishop or Murray then I would look at dealing Rask, the Jets have goalie troubles maybe they take Rask for Trouba. Of course you can't deal him until you have another trade for a replacement.

Why does his career tell a different story then?
