I don't know that seems like quite the stretch to me. Simmonds is a mostly useless 4th line grinder. We aren't getting run over this period because of his presence on the bench. That is ridiculous.

That Sandin-Timmins pairing is getting caved in

Not that I blame Timmins, he just doesn’t have the defensive chops at this point. But he’s got to at this stage only be paired with Brodie, Lily, or Giordano, people who know how to play a responsible defensive game. Holl, Rielly, or Sandin can’t carry an inexperienced guy like Timmins.
