I think it is mental fatigue. They lose focus. When focused, this is a dangerous team. This team is unfocused. I think focus is the product of maturity and knowing what it takes to consistently win. That last one tends to be learned through hard experience.

We brought players in to be harder to play against, we look softer than ever right now.

Didn’t we lead the team in fights the past few years? Guys like Tony, Buch & Lemieux had way more of an edge than the guys we have now. Igor gets run routinely and our tough guys do nothing. Any of those 3 would go ballistic

The team plays this way because the top players want to play this way. That's why Gallant's system is the same as Quinn's -- it's the same top guys. For right or wrong they are catering to the top guys and you can't have your other lines and pairs playing different games than your top line and pairing.

lot of beta personalities. same issue there's been for years, even through roster turnover. they're seeking out those guys maybe for coachability reasons, who knows

Does he actively watch hockey? Genuinely curious how he would evaluate players. Especially younger ones. Does he read scouting reports or just talk to old friends to get updates?
