Its where it should be at this point in the build, but its got a lot of holes and when you lose a couple players it shows
I agree. But to think this is a veritable playoff team is just silly. For me it goes back to the Panarin signing: great player to watch but we’re getting peak Bread while we’re not contending. Reality is setting in.

He was handed an extremely flawed roster here. Hard to implement your gameplan.

You can still install a transition plan and play with a bit of tempo. And Drury had the summer to bring in players management liked, in discussion with Gallant. Where is the plan in the offensive zone, breakout plan etc?

I see it, but it's so bad that's it's hard to describe to somebody who's not seeing it.

"The Rangers don't play hockey."

"What do you mean they don't play hockey?"

Like, puck support is not a tactic, it's a fabric of the game. It's not like, in soccer, this team plays a 4-3-3 and this team plays a 4-4-2. Not doing puck support is like not doing headers.
we don't support the puck.

We don't actively look to create lanes for the puck.

We have no clue what we're doing.

We look like we don't practice and we have a fundamental flaw with how to create offense 5v5.

I don't know how this isn't a coaching issue

Been saying it all year, this team isn't ready until the kids are ready, forcing something that isn't there and moving assets at the deadline would be a huge mistake. I think Bread stays competitive for a while so i wouldn't worry about that.

Hes going to probably continue to be pretty great for a few years. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if hes one of the rare big UFA contracts that ends up being a net win in terms of production vs price.

Signing him was and has always been the wrong move.

Knowing us we’ll beat Florida before the break. Let’s just hope the time off helps.

There just isn't anymore "give him one more game" blurbs for Gauthier anymore. He's has had every opportunity.

NHL body. AHL hockey sense. Shame. I was a fan of the trade when it went down.
yep decent goal scorer in the AHL but Carolina knew what they had in him or shall I say did not have in him

Our possession numbers stink because the bottom six is atrocious.

They aren’t even bad, they are just bottom five in the league.

Go from worst to average 4th line.

Because we've through coach after coach and it's the same thing.

Evidently, the front office is only hiring coaches that are going to go along with their non-system.

Who knows how much input he actually has?

My problem is the constant lack of effort. Guys gliding all over, slow to get the bench on line changes, lazy passes. Stuff like that is on the coaching staff.

Rooney , Reaves, McKegg, Brodzinski, These guys are unplayable. Reaves is at like a 33% xG all season. If the Rangers are a serious team they would just bench Reaves when everyone is healthy but the won't because they are a joke.

The words out of Gallant's mouth 'it's basically the same system'

It does start at the top. This team is not playing modern day NHL hockey and we are terrible at executing Quinn/Gallant hockey
