10pm for me, ugh

In the back of my mind I always tell myself that I shouldn't be complaining because EST timezone people have it way worse. Having to watch games starting at 10 or 10:30pm would absolutely suck.

Always struck me as weird that sports leagues don't seem to make much of an attempt to get games on earlier in the day in the east considering the size of local viewing audience. Insane to me that Sunday/Monday night football starts at almost 9pm EST, for example. I'm also a big golf fan, which is perfect here because it starts at 11 and you can kind of lounge and watch through the day before having it end well before dinner. In EST it doesn't start until 1 and leaders wouldn't be off until 2 or 3. Brutal.

Still remember my confusion the first time I was in Toronto on a Saturday and no hockey was on when I flipped on the TV at 5. Hockey starting at 5pm on Saturdays is so routine for me it just didn't compute that I had to wait until 7 and then basically not watch the second game due to the time.

It’s still early so I hope I don’t jinx it, but this is probably the first time since 2006 that I can say I looked at our lineup and actually saw a third line that I like and have no real interest in changing. I think that once that line gets going they’re going to end up being a major catalyst for us. Almost all Stanley Cup champions have a third line that is an impact line and the Oilers haven’t ever had that. I think they might now though.

Now, we just need to tweak the second line!

I do hope Kane struggles are more injury related and hopefully he’s starting to feel better.

Weird seeing that the Oilers average age is 30, we've been so used to them being the "young team" since '06 really. Really illustrates that this is truly a "win now" team.

Yeah. Unfortunately, we are old.

Nevermind the streak, we are either 3 points within Vegas after this or 7 points (barring OT). I know we have a bunch of games in hand as well.
I don’t even care about the streak honestly. I just want the team to keep trusting the process and keep playing how they’ve been playing. Win or lose play the right way and the points should continue. Now I‘ll say if skinner and pickard suddenly can’t stop a puck then that could change things pretty fast. You need goaltending so I hope it can continue.

Hopefully Nurse doesn't get suspended. I could have flashbacks.

Went out in snowstorm yesterday just to get a new 4k Tv to watch this game. Old TV blew up on Saturday watching team Matthews... It couldn't take it. No mas!
Enjoy the new screen.

Going to be sweet watching 16 play off wins on that baby!

Big prediction. Brown gets 2 goals and the streak ends lol

Also, a very odd good luck omen from Canada. Drake had a leaked shlong video online. Lets say it resembles our winning streak. It's very big/long, meaning the streak will continue..
On both accounts (but especially the Brown prediction).

When I was driving to work this morning, there was a guy on the 23Av bridge over the Whitemud Creek holding a "One More, Boys" sign. That's dedication!
Huh, I drive over that bridge to and from Century Park everyday, how have I never seen him?

Compare that bottom six to the one Holland inherited:

You can pick from (and no you can't have Lucic or Chiasson, they were playing mostly in the top 6): Rattie, Caggiula, Reider, Brodziak, Khaira, Puljujarvi, Cave, Spooner, Gagner (without hips).

Our GM hasn't been all bad.

This would be an absolutely wild week to be in Vegas.

I really have no idea how this one is going to go but I’m just hopeful we see a team that’s prepared, plays hard and executes well. I hope Vegas brings their A game too. If we get that from the boys I think they get the win but if it doesn’t go their way it’s not the end of the world. Even though if they do lose I fully expect the usual suspects to flood the pgt with endless posts about how we can’t beat good teams and we won’t beat Vegas in the playoffs.

Not going to win every game and need to be able to detach the result from the game. If we lose a hard fought game where we played well but came up short, I’m ok with that but if we are firing on all cylinders I think we smoke these fools more often then not.
