They are 5-0 in afternoon games this year.

Wow, really? That's actually kind of impressive, considering a 1 PM start can mess with their rhythm even more than a simple 1 or 2 hour time zone shift.

Maybe all this talk about having family distractions, getting older has some merit. I guess B's ought to be heading to dinner for the early bird special right about now. Anyone know if Florida's looking for a third franchise? :sarcasm:

Damn good game. Bergeron looks like he's going to be back on an upswing at any moment now. And, for once, they didn't leave their goalie out to dry, and won a game despite having 3 goals against.

The only thing on my checklist left is to win a game (preferably in regulation) without Rask. If we can't do that, we've got about 10 scheduled losses coming up this season. Maybe that gets checked off Monday?

Definitely hope they give Zane a shot Monday.

For whatever reason they play like they do on the road in the matinee games. There is enough of a sample size now to indicate something is in play there.

Yes, don't think Backes got any points but he played a good game.

Bergeron and Marchand both +4. Hope we will be seeing this "World Cup" Bergeron and Marchand the rest of the season.

Was just thinking, how good is it to have Backes standing strong there in front of the net, he's doing a lot, even if it's not always showing on the score board.

Very important piece of the puzzle.

Wild Card 2 is now a viable playoff outcome if the Leafs and Sens make their games in hand count.

And another one coming up Monday. Holiday for some people, not for me. So DVR it is, although I may be able to catch some of it at lunch.

Was going to ask. Why is that a holiday? All I can find is National Religious Freedom Day.

They've dominated matinee games for years now. Might be that their style of play (heavy possession game) is hard to match for opponents in early games.

Can always guarantee one thing when playing the Flyers, your going to get your offensive opportunities and today was no different. Eddie Haskel or whatever his name is must spend 0 minutes of practice time working with the team on D.

Thought after the early goal and overall sloppy play (Spoons with 2 brutal giveaways in his own end in the 1st) we were about to witness a blowout for the bad guys but the PP was good. Rask didn`t seem to be tracking the puck well today, not necessarily the goals against but rebounds he would have routinely swallowed up or put to a place where only his teammates could have retrieved it

Ok, looking forward to the Leafs/Sens tilt. For those who enjoy watching a fun team, watch the Leafs, unfortunately, they are playing Guy "I only know 1-4 D" Boucher.

Buddy of mine has sold more of his season tix this season than ever before, despite winning, the team is dreadful to watch he says

They have 8 more afternoon games this year.

Need wins I want Rask.

Great win today. 3rd period was a tad sloppy but overall entertaining game.

I agree that we need wins, and I agree more Rask means more wins. But he's not playing the rest of the schedule. I assumed awhile ago that with no more B2Bs residing completely in January, he might sit 1 out of about every 4 games this month.

We've got NYI-DET-CHI-PIT-DET-PIT before the ASG. Rask's a lock on the CHI and two PITs, barring injury. Pretty much means he's going to sit one of the next two games, and I'd feel better with Rask resting against NYI: they're a weaker team, and they're already under his skin (cf 12/20).

Plus, it'd be nice to give McIntyre a perfect situation to see what he can make of it. Matinee game. Home crowd. Scheduled start. Bottom feeder team. No Pierre/national media exposure. The only "disadvantage" is that Zane had a surprise appearance Thursday, but I'm not under the impression rookie goalies show wear and tear like rookie skaters. He should be ready Monday.

Past 3 games:

Shots for: 114
Shots against: 59

Dominating efforts lately.

But but but but they are wasting Bergeron's best years by putting out a horrible team

23-13 they are all but a lock to get in

Marchand is just two assists shy of his career season high assist number (28).

43 points in 46 games while shooting UNDER his career shooting percentage.

Now that is improvement, wow.

Great news for us Bruins fans in Europe. And apparently also for the Bruins' chances of making the playoffs.
