How can you determine that from SV %? Goalie stats are relative, they are all not facing the same chances. Oilers are now elite at preventing HDC, and that should correlate to great stats by the goalies.

I think we have all been conditioned into these beliefs by many years of bad goaltending, which has destroyed our perspective. Pickard is a replacement level goalie, and he's outperformed skinner. A logical inference is then that Skinner is also a replacement level goalie. If Skinner was more than a replacement level goalie, would he not be grossly outperforming Pickard? There should be a big gap. Who cares what goalies are doing in different situations, look at the guys who are in the exact same position imo
I mean sv% is one metric right, gaa is another, I know hes up there in advanced stats too.
With your logic we can never really determine who is outperforming who unless we watch majority of all these goaltenders games and noone does that.
Fine, il change it to that a lot of his stats are up there with the best goaltenders in that span, that statistically he is outperforming a lot of really good goaltenders.
In what world has Pickard outperformed Skinner? Even if we put usage and workload to the side, Skinner is still outperforming Pickard. In the span I was talking about Pickard has .900 and 2.61, Skinner has 9.25 and 2.09, and that is with the same defense, how can you possibly spin that to mean Pickard is outperforming Skinner? That is a big gap.

This is a very good despite what happens tonight. Get some upgrades at the deadline and this team is legit
100%

I wanted to see pushback and we seen it and they are tired. Then Stu does make 2 good saves end of the 2nd. Positive signs.

Like I said, I will be real happy if we can get 1 point out of today. rest up and then go kick VAN's a**

We're running their show.
Skinner says hold my beer. Unfortunately got a feeling AV's win this on another stinker goal.

In other news Mackinnon has had 3 scoring chances and beat Skinner clean everytime. The last one had 3feet on farside to go in and hits inside of post. Skinner living a charmed life. AV's could have 5 goals Skinner is so weak. expected is one. Go figure.

I kinda wonder if Bouchard is a bit gunshy to blast it now that he's almost killed Hyman a couple times this season.

He seems to be way too selective in getting the bomb away.

im wondering if he needs tommyjohn surgery or whatever the hockey equivalent is. guy has been blasting bouch bombs since he was born, and i dont think hes been clocked at 90mph a single time this year.

And now refs will even up the penalties in the 3rd, so get ready to kill 1 or 2.
Undoubtedly, I hope the Oilers don't regret not cashing in on that late 2nd PP. Also, you'd think that they'll be fatigued in the 3rd on the second half of a back to back and with them having worked so hard in the first two periods and the altitude etc. Gonna need Skinner, gulp the way he started tonight, to make some big saves.

When they play like this, you start to see how adding Kane and whatever they get at the TDL, I'm not sure how other teams can beat them 4 times.

Excited to see how Bowman spends that extra 5M or so! Finally playing the cap game this year. And maybe we ruin it for everyone else and the NHL changes the cap rules after we exploit it :)

Glen Sather telling the story of having to take the Stanley Cup to an auto body shop to get it fixed after the players damaged it celebrating. I’ve heard a lot of stories over the years but I’ve never heard that one before.
I heard that one a few times and how the boys would go out to so many bars with it

Get Jeff Skinner outta here if he doest fit. Add another 3 million

In fairness he nailed a 97mph shot just that period. I dunno, I think we get too hard on the guy. Teams have adjusted, taking it away and going for blocks more. This puts Booch in the position of having very much to worry about block breakaways. He's gunshy that way now, its understandable. Oilers need to work Booch more into different areas on PP and not just Center back. Teams are just cheating to that spot becuase they know he's there.

Having someone on the left wall that can actually 1-time shots would open up options a lot. But I guess we just need to keep Nuge there for eternity.

This stuff is available online.

44 90+ MPH shots,
83 80-90 MPH shots
68 70-80 MPH shots.

Dont the Oilers have like a 35% powerplay in the last 2 months.

I could tell other stories about what the Oilers did with the cup at peeler bars but um....;)

Another one is one of the OIlers had the cup on a road trip, had a flat tire. Had some tourists take pictures with the cup and the player and then the tire is fixed and they leave the f***ing SC on the road, on some highway. They forgot to put it back in. Drunk driving was a thing back then.
