I mean sv% is one metric right, gaa is another, I know hes up there in advanced stats too.How can you determine that from SV %? Goalie stats are relative, they are all not facing the same chances. Oilers are now elite at preventing HDC, and that should correlate to great stats by the goalies.
I think we have all been conditioned into these beliefs by many years of bad goaltending, which has destroyed our perspective. Pickard is a replacement level goalie, and he's outperformed skinner. A logical inference is then that Skinner is also a replacement level goalie. If Skinner was more than a replacement level goalie, would he not be grossly outperforming Pickard? There should be a big gap. Who cares what goalies are doing in different situations, look at the guys who are in the exact same position imo
With your logic we can never really determine who is outperforming who unless we watch majority of all these goaltenders games and noone does that.
Fine, il change it to that a lot of his stats are up there with the best goaltenders in that span, that statistically he is outperforming a lot of really good goaltenders.
In what world has Pickard outperformed Skinner? Even if we put usage and workload to the side, Skinner is still outperforming Pickard. In the span I was talking about Pickard has .900 and 2.61, Skinner has 9.25 and 2.09, and that is with the same defense, how can you possibly spin that to mean Pickard is outperforming Skinner? That is a big gap.
