I assume the goalies will rotate between the upcoming back to back. Assuming Ullmark doesn't suit up. Which game does Forsberg play?

Good game at the rink tonight, they deserved a better fate, I thought they outplayed the Capitals for most of the game & had the much more dangerous chances. At least they got a point. Kleven continues to improve & Ostapchuk made a number of good defensive plays. Norris took a lot of the defensive zone faceoffs, Green seems to trust him, it used to be Giroux.

I'll take the point against Washington. Team looked great in the D-zone, Leevi was super-solid, but as for O-zone... the effort is there, forecheck is improving, but the finish hasn't been there in a while (except against Dallas for some reason) and it is very concerning.

Bredy needs to go to the front of the net, Norris needs to shoot, Stutzle needs to simplify his game and also shoot. Batherson is less visible than earlier in the season (he had one very good pass, but we need more from him). Pinto was unusually quiet offensively. Giroux can't keep up. Sanderson should be embarrassed that Jensen showed more creativity offensively on the PP and 3vs3 than him. We badly need Chabot back, potentially different outcome if he's on the 3vs3. Gaudette is a net negative if he can't score.

I have nothing bad to say about our foot soldiers (other than maybe we have too many foot soldiers?): Cousins, Greig, Highmore, Kleven, Matinpalo and even Sebrango who held the fort in his first game. They all did their job.

Seeing Leevi live is something else. I was watching him and his movement, composure is a sight to be seen. The word everyone seems to use is calm. He looks confident, like the streetfighter who invites you to punch his face. Nothing fazes the kid, it seems the rebounds don't even make it out of the crease. We have something special here....hope he doesn't turn into the Hamburglar.

Since November 1st, the Sens are last in the NHL with 62 goals at even-strength. They're 29th in all-strength goals with 86.

That's a 35 game stretch.
Thats kinda what you would get if you just look at our roster tho.

There’s no line combinations that will unlock some goals.

There is no goalscorer on this team.

Everyone is on pace for kinda what they should be other than pinto

And our offense from the back end is nonexistent. (Not literally non existent)

Still the most encouraging and best the team has played for 8 years.

From being a good defensive team you can build a great offense.

I literally can't remember the last time I saw a 0-0 game. Felt like we were the better team for much of the game. Don't like the feeling of how good we made their goalie look (my cope is that the Caps must just be good at keeping shots low-chance and not giving up rebounds) but that's balanced by how solid Meri was. Watching the highlights there were several moments that would've been automatic goals against a year ago.

Thompson is 20-2-3 with a .925 sv%, I don't think we made him look good, he just is good.

Folks need to relax. This was a terrific f***ing game. I kept having the same thought all game long: POISE.

Everyone, every single player on the team played with poise. Washington is an amazing team. The Sens did not look less than. This looked like a full team effort and both goalies played lights out.
I was really encouraged by this game. Holy shit, they played well.
They played such a solid game. Amazingly structured. Couldn't produce much offense, but neither could Washington.

A1 effort.

Sucks to lose that point. Only bright spot is dad's happy. He's 83 and adores Ovie. He also said the Sens should bring baskets with them so they can carry the puck, and a map to help them find the net.....and I can't disagree with that. This team really needs some polishing in the skills area.

Don’t know which game you guys watched….But it was the Sens that carried the play, and overall were the better team on the ice last night…. The Sens don’t need to change anything, and play the same way next game. the Caps were lucky to get an extra point, after being dominated by the Sens…their goaltender ended up being the difference.

Wasn't that bad of a game but third period and beyond everyone was probably tired and a bit lackadaisical.

The Stutzle shift in overtime kind of highlighted that. He goes into the zone wide, skates behind their net and out the other side over the course of ~15ish seconds. The other players were changing. By the time he got around he had no outlet pass and coughed up the puck.

If the team was showing any sort of effort Stutzle has a pass into the slot or can throw it at the net to create a chaotic chance. But instead it ends up in a giveaway where it's easy to blame Stutzle but there should have been 2 other skaters providing him options. A lot of puck holding that amounted to nothing because of passive play without the puck.

Gaudette would be the player I take out for Perron, thought Gaudette was our lightest player last night by a large margin, love the hands but he’s not generating enough playing with Timmy

Absolutely, it's part of the process. They're working on being better defensively, the offence will suffer as a result. But it's step 1 and eventually the players will get comfortable in that system to generate more offence.

Gaudette is too soft, does not make hard checks and stays away from heavy contact. He has a very good shot though which is better than many others and positions himself well to receive passes and make one-time shots. He is not a top 6 forward but may have to do until we get one or two more.
