I don't think a late-season collapse would be disappointing if it got us in lottery range and gave us the chance to add some more talent.

You say this now... but you'd be just as upset as the rest of us if they had a legitimate shot and **** the bed during the home stretch. We need playoff experience.

This is what concerns me - we seem to do very well against crappier teams, but we're clearly outmatched against the league's finest.

Wha...yeah that's really helped the oilers. Outmatched? Maybe vs Pittsburgh and St. Louis, but we played Boston tough as hell.

Am I the only one screaming Bobrovsky in my living room?

The kids are running around the house yelling it, dogs chasing them, wife is pissed. Friday night fun. I hope we have something to smile about tomorrow night. Let's get 3 or 4 in a row boys and make things interesting. These are the kind of games that will bring the fans back to the Arena.

The CBJ are winning the right games. They have dominated the Eastern Conference teams not named Penguins or Bruins.

CBJ have a 15-6-2 Overall Record Versus Eastern Conference teams not named Boston or Pittsburgh.

They are 11-1-2 in their last 14 games versus Eastern Conference teams not named Pittsburgh or Boston.

Fortunately, only 1 game left versus Pens and 0 vs. Boston :handclap:

These are the 4 point games they need to win. Hopefully the others wins will come along vs. West Conference and Pens/Bruins.

I honestly think we are physically too much for most of the Eastern teams. 15-6-2 with the depleted team we've been icing is impressive.

We're 3 points out of the playoffs. In early January. Why exactly is a Nucks fan going on about tanking?

Like I literally can't understand how you got "tanking" out of that game. That was an almost flawless game. If the team plays like that every game, we'll be cup champs, not a lottery team.

So is Jack Johns...oh wait....

Trust me here.... the USA is watching Jack right now, if there is an injury he will get a call if he continues to play as he did tonight... The dude is good but a tad lazy too imo, he needs to get his mind into the game as he did tonight, if not go home Jack.

Yandle might be their first call, he's had a strong season.

Well, the Jackets looked good tonight... every part of the team worked hard and worked well... even the third sweaters kicked ass...

Horton is good but not 100% yet... great game, great win..

If the Jackets go into Winnipeg tomorrow and get beat by that guy Noel I'll be pissed.... a winning streak begins tomorrow.

It was a good game, but Bob saved our bacon. Need to keep it rolling against the Jets.

Other than a certain leader I love Russia.... I love winter and everything winter, oh, the folks there are pretty too... :)

I hate the leader too. Actually majority of Russians hate him. But Russian vacuum cleaners are so bad (and I don't think they make them any more) that calling a goalie like that would be considered as an insulting :)
Looks like Russians thought that Bob doesn't get enough practice before Olympics, so Nikitin and Anisimov took those back-to-back penalties to warm him up :)

a winning streak begins tomorrow.
The Jackets have won 2 in a row. They ARE on the winning streak already :)

I agree we played a great game, but I was more commenting in regards to our record against top teams.

PIT: 0-4-0
BOS: 0-2-1
MTL: 0-1-1
TBL: 1-0
STL: 0-1-1
ANA: 0-1

We're 1-9-3 against Top 4 teams.

PHI: 1-1-0
NYR: 2-1-0
WSH: 0-1-1
DET: 0-1-0
VAN: 1-1-0
COL: 0-1-0
MIN: 1-0-0

And 4-6-1 against Top 5-8 teams. In total, we're 5-15-4 against teams in playoff contention; 4-11-2 against those in the Eastern Conference. For argument's sake, introducing the Hurricanes in the equation would make us only 6-11-2. And remember, we only have 1 win against a Top 4 team, which are the guys we're most likely to play against if we were to make the playoffs.

Anyhow, the question was more hypothetical to draw attention to our poor record vs top teams. Anything can happen in the playoffs, specially with Bob backstopping us.

And lastly, see user title. ;)

Johnson had 2 bad plays in the 1st period and had a dangerous pinch in the 2nd. That said, our defense was pretty solid. Savard falling down in the 1st made me laugh (after we successfully cleared the puck of course).

Bob was outstanding. Amazing.

Atkinson is a different player when Calvert is in the game. Kinda weird.

We did a good job of winning face-offs after getting dominated in the 1st (4 CBJ - 10 CAR). Also did a great job of not taking penalties (besides the 5-on-3 of course). We were 1 for 2 on the PP and 2 for 2 on the PK. The high stick on Umberger was strange because nobody called it until after they watched the replay on the Jumbotron. Don't know if the linesman said anything or not.

I honestly don't think all those records are important. How many of those games the Jackets played without Horton, Bob, Gabby, Wiz? They played a great series against Boston, nothing to be ashamed of. They outplayed the Pens in Pittsburgh and lost. They outplayed Detroit. These Jackets is a young team that knows how to play, they need to learn how to WIN. And a late season collapse could be dreadful for them.

Few here would dare call me a homer but I track the last ten games played and points vs games played....

We are 6-4 in the last 10 and 44 points in 44 games which is .500 after playing a complete slate of teams reagrdless of their standings...

The Blue Jackets are now on dek for a playoff contention run but they must stop the win/lose stuff... if they can run 7 or 8 points out of the next 10 they will be close to the third seed in the metro division...

When the Jackets survived that early second period press by the Canes, I said to my friend, "It is over, Bob is on this game. We own this one". It is strange how totally and completely in control Bob was. The D gets credit for keeping the shots outside. And it was pretty clear that if Bob could see it, he was gonna stop it.

We're winning the ones we need to win. You don't include Toronto in your numbers... Why? Because we beat them twice and they have 4 less points that keep them out of the top 8. Same with Carolina and New Jersey. A win against those teams is > than a win against Pitt or Boston and >> than wins in West Conference due to the 4 point swings.

We've played the toughest half of our schedule without Horton or Bobvrosky (much of the way). We only have 1 game left vs Pitt, 0 vs Boston, 1 vs Montreal and 2 vs Tampa Bay.

You may have issues with those games, but those games aren't a concern unless we make the playoffs. I think we have an excellent chance based on more games versus teams we can/have beaten if we can be done with major injury bug.
