Can't stand the guy, but that was impressive.

Rough night for our boys, Quick deflated things early with a couple of softies, but we looked messy anyway. They'll need to sharpen up against the Sharks or soon they'll be on the outside looking in.

Yeah, almost 26, in his fifth full year of pro hockey after three years in NCAA. There probably isn't much more development, this is a finished product. There isn't going to be any offensive game that's ever going to come out. This is a taller version of Rob Scuderi with less game sense.

Doughty was as bad with puck as I've seen him in years . After the Kings made it 3-2, they win the draw and Doughty once again tries to do too much and gives it away. He did this all night. Even passing to Kopi when he has an open shot with the goalie pull, didn't make the right move.
 
6 home games against the Pacific. All 6 opponents have walked out of LA with at least a point, and 5 have left with 2. A single SO win, which was about a minute away from a loss in regulation, 3 regulation losses, with another 2 L's in OT. They have 11 GF in the 6 games. 12 if you count the SO, and hey, why not give it to them for an even 2 per game? 16GA in the 6 games, 17 if you want to throw in the EN tonight. Quick has played in all 6.

11 of 12 possible points by the road team. 4 of 12 possible points for the good guys. That has got to change.

Drew is an amazing player but I expected more offensive contributions through his career. He did really turn it on in the playoffs when we made it, but during the regular season it's been underwhelming. Not sure how much of that can be blamed on playing Murray/Sutter/Lombardi hockey for the last decade but he rarely seems to end up in prime scoring spots like some other defenseman around the league do and his shot is wildly inaccurate.

Did they practice at all during their break? I'm convinced this team has suffered the most since the NHLPA made that change to limit practices on off-days.
 
The boys better stop giving away points to their opponents in the pacific standings that are behind them.

Could it be that possibility Stevens isn't the right head coach to drive these guys?Before I get possible flamed,I'm just asking a question.:laugh:

Willie Mitchell had 3 g and 10 assists as a 25 year old and was minus 16. FYI. So I guess you guys would need to clarify which Willie Mitchell you are talking about. Scuderi went through a lot of the same thing. These guys didn’t have crystal clear successful seasons year in and year out. It’s not easy out there.

He admits he doesn't look at where he shoots most of the time. The play at the end with the goalie puled, every top dman takes that shot and doesn't pass it off to the wing. There were 3 guys in front.

Willie also missed time for injuries and bounced around 6 different organizations.
 
Do does Cogliano finally miss his first NHL game because of a suspension for the head shot on Kempe? Missed on the ice, but Player safety?

Mitchell wasn’t expected to produce points, and was on an expansion team and at the time you are pointing out was a 24-year old, who quickly moved up and became high in demand because of his defensive instincts.

Forbort doesn’t have those instincts, nor is he quick to read plays. He doesn’t have a natural instinct to react quickly.

The scoring for the 6 Pacific home games. No Toffoli anywhere. No Kempe either. Gaborik still hasn't touched the goal he's credited for. Quick well under his season overall sv%.

19-14-4 without Carter. That's a 93 point record over 82 games. 12-14-11 in regulation without Carter, 5-4 in OT, and 2-0 in the SO. If they're going to lose more in regulation than they win, they can't leave 4 extra points on the table. That 5-0-1 start is still big.

Big game on Monday. The Sharks have already come into LA and won, scoring 2 goals in the 3rd to erase a 1-0 Kings lead.
