Who didn't see this coming? A mini losing streak and like a bad burrito the "Kings are done" crowd just keeps coming back.
Not at all, the Kings are a black hole team crowd has always been here and still roots for the Kings to do well.

We can be sure when they win 3 in a row again, you'll be back pumping their tires. It's a good, not great team. Having Kopitar and Doughty on the roster, and performing as they are keeps it that way.

I know some of you hate it when some posters point out the obvious flaws. Too bad.

That Coglinano thread on the main boards

It's pretty pathetic to see so many King hating bums on the main boards defending headshots on Kings players.I know I don't normally call out people but this is disgusting to read.

The composition of the roster is a big hurdle that’ll take years to overcome. Most of the top players have performed accordingly, some of the middle tier guys have done well, others have struggled.

I wasn’t going to put any young player on a pedestal and expect them to carry the secondary scoring.

In reality, until Carter gets back (and who knows how much of an impact he’ll have considering his down time), this really is a one line team.

They have very little depth throughout the lineup, and that’s largely due in part to previous management.

They’re weak on the wings, down the middle, and on the blueline. That’s just too many holes to fill in one fell swoop. Once the top line starts to cool off, or Kempe can’t provide secondary scoring, there isn’t much offense in the lineup to rely upon.

Yup. I'm done here for a while, at least until the blind hatred is gone (maybe never, but so be it). I'm convinced at this point that some people just hatewatch the Kings because that's all they've ever done instead of actually enjoying it. I guess I'm just hoping that at some point, losing streak or otherwise, the irrational anger will just reach critical mass and blackhole itself right off the forum. Until then!

P.S. I enjoyed the game, was actually really evenly played minus one good goalie vs. one bad goalie (we owe him one for this year anyway). No Muzzin, no Carter vs. a pretty damn good team and I thought overall it was still a very close game. Much easier to watch away from the boards.

I like how criticism is spun as hate. But alas, society as a whole is over sensitive and reactive and feels like they are owed an apology every instant a dissenting opinion is expressed.

How dare people express a counterpoint?!

I don’t see a poster coming in and simply stating “this team sucks.” I see plenty of reasons being listed as to why they’re struggling, and they all seem to align, which is an issue with team depth. And that’s something that simply can’t be fixed overnight.

Get over yourself. There isn't any blind hatred, or irrational anger on anyone's part.

Yeah I've never seen anyone have blind hatred or irrational anger towards this team.Pointing out the obvious flaws isn't hating or being irrational.

Everyone I see wants the team to be nothing more than successful. In 2014 the Kings owner displayed the Stanley Cup at the World Area in Colorado Springs,Co for the community to see ,touch and take pictures with the cup.

My wife and I drove 11 hrs from Az and showed up 4 hours in advance and was first inline to see that beautiful trophy in person.

Saw the Kings and Avs pre season game at the World Area the next day and met many Kings fans as well.Kings fans showed up in good numbers and represented the team on both days.We all love this team and the sport itself.

The sheer amount of people losing their minds over that suspension is pretty hilarious.

How dare they suspend a guy on an iron man streak, the nerve of the NHL!

The video pretty clearly spells it out why he was suspended, and many have a hard time comprehending it, going so far as breaking down the hit into 10th of a second to prove their point.

Show me a post where I'm "pumping their tires". The problem here isn't blind hatred etc. Its tiresome to hear the same thing over and over. WE GET YOUR POINT DUDE AND WE ARE SICK OF HEARING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND OVER. Jeez.

I hope not, I can't believe the veterans on this team would do that, as weak as the leadership is. That defies logic. I love Carter and they definitely miss the threat of Carter. Even tho he was off to a slow start, every time he crosses the blue line , he's a threat. That is something other teams have to prepare for , so it does affect the matchups. But this is a serious injury and until he is able to skate on that leg, nobody will know how , if at all, if affects his stride. Also, by that time (last estimate I read was end of Feb) he have been off for 4 months, that is akin to training camp after a summer off. The 3 weeks or so of pre season/camp is for most players to get their legs/timing and stuff back. So when he does come back, it might take a couple weeks until he's up to par.

THis team has enough talent to produce goals to win , if they play a full effort. JC being off the team, isn't preventing that. Far too often , this year, like the last couple, and like last night, the Kings wait until about 10 min left in the 3rd to 'wake up'. They play lazy and a bit uninspired thru the first 2 periods. You can't do that in today's NHL. If they came to play and pushed hard in the first, getting a lead and kept it up, they'd have a say a 3-1 lead going into the third, instead of skating uphill. That's a mistake that teams inexperienced teams make.

I didn't have them a playoff team in Sept and I still don't. NOthing I've seen speaks to that. They are a good team who got off to a hot start in a cold division. THey have added some terrific young blood in Iafallo and KEmpe who are shaping up to be good top 6'ers. And Next year, if Vilardi and Amadio make the team, that's another step forward. But you can't erase 3 yrs worth of DL errors with a single brushstroke. Luc and blake knew the score when they took over. And they are trying to right the ship, but it takes time.

Trading for a top 4 D, as much as they like to, would cost too much. To get that elusive player, you'd have to give up a top 6 forward, to being with, and that creates another hole. I've read they have been trying to upgrade the d, but won't pay the price, too steep.

I don't agree that the leadership is weak. We have experienced veteran players wearing letters. Its not like theyve given the c to some young kid like mcdavid.

To use baseball as an example, some here would not excuse the occasional home run given up by a pitcher after striking out 10. There are many very good hockey plays taking place. And, there are some that are hard to watch. It’s all part of the game. The opposition brings pressure and its not easy to handle. Another pitfall a not very astute hockey fan can get into is only counting up goals and assists, only thinking a “good” player is someone who wows you offensively (never mind the fact defensive skills lack), or not understanding each role a player is expected to bring to the team, like PK, PP, energy line dump and chase forechecking, goal scoring, etc. You need certain types of players to protect a lead and you need certain types of players to catch up. Hockey is a very situational game. You are stuck each night with the 20 u suit up, not realizing what you might need more of ahead of time. The game ends after 60 and u get a reset. It doesn’t matter if u win or lose by 1 or 10. So, chances are taken at some points where it was the right play, even if it didn’t work out. We are not putting together a year end high light reel of plays not ever knowing the context they took place in. Context and situations are real to players. If your team is ahead, it only stands to reason the opponent will start getting more shot attempts and better Corsi, etc. there are other stats that are situational driven. Tell me more about what happened when we were ahead, tied, or behind, 1st 2nd or 3rd period. The list of situations goes on and on. Some plays are worse than others. A player not being able to make a clean breakout isn’t the end of the world. Sometimes it’s how well you eat the puck and not do things very foolish. A turnover but still maintain position defensively isnt many times the end of the world. I think it is hard to be on a team that starts to feel we can’t ever make a mistake and give up a goal because we don’t score many ourselves. Stevens has said recently the team needs to tighten up defense wise. I think they need to open up more offense wise. Are we a good defensive system team that can have a player make an occasional outstanding offensive play? Or, are we a good offensive system team that can have a player make an occasional outstanding defensive play? I think the kings play better with the second thought. But, we see AA and KC because they are more the first thought. The whole league is going to the second thought. In any event, it’s kind of ridiculous to talk about tightening up the D when we are low in goals against, number 1 PK, and Quick plays well most nights. Meanwhile we don’t get much secondary scoring, our PP looks horrible and creates very little momentum or chances, etc. The noose is starting to tighten on this team again. We really need an inspirational insight that lets the players just go for it offensively. Why not play the first 10 minutes of each game the way we were forced to play the last ten minutes last night. I mean, what could happen? A loss? Hockey is a delicate balance of all this stuff. Teams that win figure out that balance that works for them, and its not necessarily what the coach has planned. Anyone that thinks the Kings came from 3-0 down to SJ by following DS system religiously need to look again. They scrapped it all and went for it. Sure the frame work was there somewhat, but players started taking chances figuring what do we/i have to lose. This team needs that now. Go for it!!!

To be fair,I feel the same about your view, but I respect it.We all have the right to express our views without being attacked for them.

I enjoy K17 posts cause he loves his team and post the obvious flaws with the team as others have and is willing to have a civil debate or discussion about his personal opinion or view.

Lets continue to support the freedom of debate, discussion and opinion even if it doesn't match your view.

My issue with Kings management, especially Robitaille, is the BS sales job regarding this roster being a Stanley Cup contender. I will amend my comment though regarding Blake. Thus far he hasn't made any moves to hurt the future to support Robitaille's illusion. I hope he continues on this path.

Not being able to beat teams in their own division is their only problem? Well, I'm glad that's all it is, since those are the teams they play the most games against, and is easily solved. Meanwhile the Ducks, who were without their top two centers for a large portion of the early season, are breathing down the Kings necks.

Beyond clear rebuilding teams, every front office does the same BS sales job. Hell, rebuilding teams do it too. This 5 year plan will get us back into contention for the Stanley Cup, which is all we care about in this organization, I promise you that. Not that they can promise that. Well they can, but more likely than not they won't deliver.

Like I said, they will probably miss the playoffs if they continue to suck at home against their most direct competition for a playoff spot, but at least they don't suck, so far, against every other team on every sheet of ice. Something to build on. At least they can focus on why they struggle so much at home against division teams. If they don't fix it, then Robitaille gets to do his thing.

It's hard not to be happy with the overall performances of leaders of the team. But our secondary scoring is not inspiring. A fix for that? Any call-up the Kings make right now is ho-hum. None of our prospects are going to make a difference right now. With Pearson cold and Carter out, not having a fully-functioning '70s Line hurts. I can see the Kings trying to make our No. 1 defense even stronger because the Kings just aren't locking it down.

On the positive side, this season the Kings are able to come back from behind better than we've seen in the past couple of years. Iafallo, while not a scorer AT ALL, has brains and doggedness and has noticeably helped Kopi and Brownie click this season. We have a top 6 forward in the pipeline we can get excited about (Villardi) who has already gotten an education on what it means to be a Kings professional.

Can't wait until Carter comes back. Last few games I've been dozing off because I've just not been excited by the team lately.

When the Kings management does something differently to address the issues in a significant way, you will hear something different from me. You might want to check the caps lock button on your computer it seems to be stuck.
