McDavid put RNH is a pretty terrible spot with a questionable backpass and then Nuge failed to get it deep.

It was a little more slow developing than usual but it was a pretty textbook example gray area turnover.

All Nuge has to do there is dump it in the corner. What he can't do there is put the puck right at a Flame. That said McD has been friggen awful in this game. Has been for a week now.

Top line has frankly stunk tonight and most of Flames scoring chances coming against them.

They were the best line in hockey for a good month so a dry spell was inevitable. I'm not concerned, season has lots of ebbs and flows but, yeah, they've definitely been fighting it as of late.

Kane is also in his 30s. We could be seeing the beginning of his decline. Lucic was on the decline by the time he got to Edmonton and he was only 29.

Oil are a 50%+ face-off team for the season. Tonight McDavid at 36% and Draisaitl 41%. Flamers were better that period. Line 1 is not having a good game. Some credit to Vladar who's making saves. But Oil are also overpassing into missed shots and turnovers.

This is what I'm thinking as well. He's lost some of his acuity offensively. Sometimes hands is the first thing to go plus obviously the wrist injury.

Well they should be. Line is loaded. But they've been off for around two weeks now. Its not just this game. You can't put this much cap on one line and have it look this bad. They're the worst line tonight.
