Of course, remember that between 1986 and 1996, we had Detroit TV stations on our local cable providers. (Sociologically, in an age before the internet, it was those News 4 Nightbeats that introduced drive-bys to our fair city.) Recently, WDIV celebrated its 75th anniversary with some throwback specials.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane:thumbu:

Looking at Copp's point totals, seems to be having a decent season in line with what he has done in his career. Not sure why the consternation about him among the Wings fans.

Hoping for a bounce back game from 55 in his own zone.

3 goals in 38 games.

For $5.625m a year for the next 5. I liked Copp but it seems like he needs talent around him and can't really do a lot on his own. That run with New York's big guns made him set for life.

He does have 18 assists so someone has finished a few for him. No one else is creating much though.

I think it's probably because of the $5.625 million dollar cap hit more than anything. That was always my concern with him. I loved Copp but I would have never been comfortable paying him that much.

Hope it's Gus in for Stenlund. Stenlund's had a few really bad games in a row with multiple unforced defensive errors. He looked good for a few games but I'm still having the same issues with him. He's got some tools but seems to be really lacking in the smarts department.

5.625 million reasons for the consternation.

3 goals in 38 games.

Agreed that he is overpaid. I hadn't really followed his season beyond the first few games but judging solely by the way Wings fans talk about him I thought he was post-cliff Ladd or Louie Eriksson. The contract probably ages poorly but the numbers he is putting up this season are exactly what you would expect him to put up considering his career, the Wings should have no reason for surprise.
