I agree. But Atkinson wasn't playing great after he came back from injury and people gave him the benefit of the doubt.

I think Wiz is an important part of the hockey team, but like I said, I'm just surprised how quickly people turn on him.

I don't think it's a matter of turning completely... most players are critiqued for what they earn over a period of time... Since Wiz hardly plays he is a focus of attention.

Misstakes on defense are magnified. If Atkinson isn't playing well, he doesn't get many offensive chances. If Wiz isn't playing well the puck is in the back of our net... a lot!

It's one of the reasons I hated playing defense. I would beat myself up over goals scored against the team, even if I wasn't on the ice.
