Its implied if you say the entire period was on Stu’s shoulders.
I swear some of you take Skinner criticism personally. No one said they played well.

It's what its been the last couple years. People have wanted the team to invest in goaltending and it's not happening. They need to, because Skinner should be part of a good tandem because he's good enough to play a large number of games.

Is anybody at all denying the Oilers were shit in the first period? I don't see those posts. Its just that it would be nice to even be able to have a weak period now and then and not get buried in GA. That was the general sentiment expressed.
I totally agree with this. We played like crap but a goalie should be expected to steal a few. We deserved to be losing but it could have been by less than 4

Where it is a bit off is that it's only bad because Skinner has a reputation as being inconsistent. Even a great goalie will have a rough game now and then.

I just say that because Skinner still has the chance to salvage the night for the team and himself. If he shuts the door in the 3rd and the team can't score 2 or more, then the loss is on the skaters imo

I just dislike false narratives. Could and does happen with any player.

the problem with investing in goaltending is that their are very few that are consistent from year to year and hence why they're elite...and they're rarely available

Vegas won the Cup with their 3rd stringer FFS

What false narrative. Skinner is a good backup, his stats show that.

You can make up whatever you want, but if Skinner was always as good as he was the past month, no one would ever say anything. He's not though, he's an inconsisten goaltender, just like any other good backup goaltender.

Who fell just there? Perry?

The amount of starts he gets and the above average save percentage over a 2 year and eventually 3 year period. You know, his stats.

His stats are basically the same as Nedeljkovic while being on a significantly better defensive team.

Does that mean Alex Nedeljkovic is a good starting goaltender?
