I went there, too. 2000-04. The Habs were trash then, so I went to a lot of games.

I thought he meant Ben's in NYC.
Gotcha - not familiar with the NYC one... My bad...

I graduated in '96. Live 15 mins walk from the "old" Forum, so went to quite a few games. Standing room was dirt cheap back then.

I lived across the street from the Forum on Lambert-Closse and de Maisonneuve, but that was after they turned it into a movie theatre and a place for Celine Dion to put one of her restaurants, lol.

Ben's is gone now afaik btw. Nice genteel poutine there too.

this is the benefit of a nmc...get more time to work out the kinks. i have no doubt the rangers could find a way to jettison halak but the nmc encourages them to give him some extra rope.
The Ben’s that I’m pretty sure wasn’t too far from Citi Field closed. There’s still a few others.

Ok im not THAT old lol. But yea I think part of the deal back then was get out maybe hop on your bike and see who is home or at the usual places. I honestly didn't use the regular phone a lot back then.
I remember my grandfather telling me how he would have to go downstairs and across the street to the candy store to make AND receive calls. Like someone would knock on his door saying he had a call..

He would also tell me about how he would take a date to a movie, have popcorn and a soda then Go out for an ice cream split all for under a dollar so he still had 10 cents for church the next day.

Wild things to hear.

i think i used to look at this in, like, 1997... could that be possible?

Really is kind of sad how these past few generations don't really have the capacity to sit around and just "shoot the shit" without a phone in their hand. True that back then, we all were busy passing around a joint, and everybody knows its difficult doing that and trying to tweet or whatever else they do on social media.
Back then?

And don't get me wrong- the internet has unlimited potential. Things that used to take a day trip to the library to figure out you can now discover in seconds.

Problem is, we used it instead to satisfy all of our most primitive impulses. Perversion, pettiness, shallowness, being mean behind anonymity, bullying...

We get these amazing tools and use them in all of the worst ways. People spend more time alone now, physically, than ever before.

Oh yes. We made rotisserie chicken last night. It was as-seen-on-TV quality.
Dude... Ron Popeil's rotisserie oven is far superior.

The thing has such poor thermal shielding that you can boil water on top of it. It's amazing.

Set it and...

(If you said the rest in your head... Congrats you're old.)

Please annihilate these guys and embarrass their fans back to Ft Lauderdale. That goal horn alone is reason to hate these guys.

Lundqvist is so damn good on the pregame. Talking about his adventures in Montreal, good and bad, is awesome.

It is very cool that we get such a close look at one of the greatest Rangers and players of all time on a regular basis.
