Yes. Because if nothing else, Brodzinski doesn't make horrible mistakes. And has played an NHL game in 3 months. And also because he can keep up. And thanks for owning up to it, and I'm not saying I thought he'd be on the ice for the game winning goal, but all the factors I mentioned played into it. Meanwhile even Rempe was on the bench. Frustrating.

This core group is just not good enough, if these last two games haven’t made it obvious by now I don’t know what will. These guys are f***ing the softest, weakest, plodding top-6 that’s ever won a presidents trophy. Zibanejad is an absolute fraud and not a number 1 center, Kreider is a deflection merchant who is useless anywhere else. Panarin is a non-factor when the games get tight. The only guy who is legit is Fox and he’s obviously compromised and can’t do it by himself. Trocheck has had a good playoff run and Laf has been excellent. But the rest of this team simply isn’t equipped to win a Stanley cup. Forget about the defense, it’s a train wreck. Team need to get rid of most of the core pieces if they ever want a legitimate shot at the cup.

you want to throw in an undersized defenseman who hasn't played in nearly 2 months into game 5 against a team who has all 5 forecheckers outskating all 5 rangers players on any given shift? One man is not going to help fix the breakouts when the entire team is being outskated.

Trouba's idea of a "breakout" is flipping the puck to the blueline or trying to make a long-pass only for it to get intercepted in his own zone.

The blatant trip non call on Kakko was what sealed this game. We shoulda started OT on the PP

That's it. Plus the *two other* blatant non calls ON THE SAME SHIFT against Zib and Trouba.

We got reffed, and I am certain knowing that the refs are not going to make calls against Florida influences the game for the Rangers.

That's not taking away from the brutal mistakes that lead to the OT goal tho. But that shouldn't have been the story line in the first place.

Aside from size and blocking shots, would there really be a significant downgrade from Trouba? Are we going to miss Trouba coughing up pucks and taking shitty penalties?

Jones is wildly superior (as was our play when Trouba was hurt). So it would be a significant upgrade.

I've been pretty consistent about what I've said about this team.

They're a good team, and if they lose, they have a lot to build on. The issues have always been there. When have I not said it?

We're finally playing a heavy team with skill that knows how to defend the neutral zone. We knew all year that our defense can't move the puck, and this is perfect recipe to exploit it.

This wasn't just a loss. These last two games weren't competitive. There's no impetus on our roster that's going to change the way this series has turned. These aren't the symptoms of having a couple of bad games. These are the symptoms of deep holes that we have and a team that's a perfect matchup to feast on them.

People will scream and yell "put Jones in" and "so and so needs to show up" but Jones was never going in for the guys that need to come out, and your forwards aren't winning you a series when you can't even get the puck.

You can't have your defense corps littered with zeroes. I've been saying that since October. Do something about it and this team can win a Cup next year.

yes. u beat that team by retrieving the puck and moving it up ice with control before they can start bodying us. weve been pummeled the past 2 games. their aint no f***ing way that jones could possibly be any worse than the 6 dmen have played in sunrise.

Miller is not good, very soft and is very lucky he has a long reach. Don’t understand how he is considered a top dman, no physicality with that size. Never really liked him

He hasn't been great but he's playing with the corpse of Trouba who put him in terrible situations all f***ing night. He needs to go back with Schneider.

Lavi needs to look in the mirror after the one. He had a rough night. Laffy needs to be out there more...double shift him & Vinny if you have to. They were the only threats all night.

We made a tough decision ditching Strome after a good run and moving forward with Trocheck. We need to make some tough decisions on defense.

I think it extends beyond the defense. But I get it, fix one problem at a time.

This is where I've been going. And maybe next year somehow with the miracle of the hockey gods. But you can't bench the player who is going to hopefully get handed the cup. Right?

I mentioned in the game thread, 2nd periods with the long changes are our downfall. We never get the puck below the other teams goal line to allow an easy change for our D. It's always a scramble off the bench. Stop being fancy at the blue line, especially in periods with the long change. Mika should know better. That puck needed to go down the boards, not across the blue line.

3. People will focus on the OT goal but we had the puck in Fla end. Kreider goes to an open Fox. There is no pressure at all on Fox but the puck gets by him. Did it bounce on bad ice? Was it careless?

Not exaggerating, once that puck hopped over his stick I said there goes the game.
