My jaw is still on the floor after seeing that Gaudreau goal. That looked like a video game and JG was hopped up on XP. Wow!
I was lucky enough to be sitting 3-4 rows directly behind that goal tonight and seeing the play develop and then the puck go in was friggin' sweeeeeeeet! 🤘

Definitely making NHL's top plays of the week

Chinakhov has really surprised me so far. He looks like a completely different player this season. Was it just me or did his pass to Gavrikov have the release of his shot because that puck came out flying

I wish I knew how to read these cards. Like why is the above average color in negative numbers?

All the colors have the same value. The ranking is top to bottom, so Johnny had the best overall game. Negative is bad. Chinakhov for example was in the negative for his defense but more than made up for it with his assists (the light blue production category).

I wonder if Larsen wanted the vets out there to get the 1st W of the season, get that monkey off the teams back. Maybe we see him next OT?

Did Bean get hurt? I know he didn't look good, but this shows me he was better than I thought.

according to that chart he had the 6th to worst game score. how does it show you he was better than you thought? the lower the guy the worse they performed in all areas.

Looking far better in the 2nd. I cannot believe Blankenburg didn't make the opening night roster.
Blankenburg is our best player
Nick Blankenburg is an absolute gem.

the fact that he hasn’t been in the lineup all along so far is a travesty. I went to opening night and was bummed to see he wasn’t in the lineup. hope all who are in attendance tonight are enjoying the blanks show despite this sh!tshow.
Tonight sure has made it obvious why Blankenburg wore the C on a stacked UM team. He's leading by example tonight.
What total crap coaching that didn't have Blank starting day one.
Some signs of life. Blanks is making them look bad so they're doing stuff now
I love that Blankenburg's game has been recognized and he's on the top pairing with Z.
Nucks fan here... was saying on our boards how he's been noticeable in a good way tonight. I think he played with Hughes in Michigan a few years back?
Exciting game once the boys decided to play. Blankenburg stays in the lineup.
Blanks might have saved the season. We're 0-4 without him tonight. Elvis was huge tonight. Johnny was incredible. Everyone had their best game tonight but Blanks was the catalyst for that.
Blankenburg is huge, plays with so much heart and doesn't take a shift for granted. So many guys on this team need to watch how he plays and replicate it.
Let's take a look where Blankenburg is on that "Impact Card" chart... hmm, 4th to last. That's fascinating.

...........

You think there's any chance Dom's Impact Cards are in some ways faulty?

It's funny CBJ can't play 60 minutes hockey game atm. The good thing is that unlike on the first 2 matches where CBJ was the better team first 20+ minutes and then folded, now it was the opposite.

I liked a lot about Blankenburg, but he also cost us 2-0 goal by positioning himself totally wrong on d-zone (all 5 Jackets were on left side when the goal was scored) AND almost cost another goal around 30 minute mark, but luckily Elvis was able to make the save. Also I didn't like the rookie-like decision to go all-in when there was 1 minute left of the regular time and CBJ just couldn't afford losing 4th game in a row with 0 points for the season.

Blankenburg pleases eye. However the 2-0 was his fault and he almost gave up another. Some decisions were not good, though I'd say all his decisions were pretty brave.

He did bring a lot to the team, but no way he was the "best player" or even the best D. The most visible D, for sure.

Impact cards / game scores tend to reflect the results or "what actually happened", not so much the "what could have happened". Eg. had Blankenburg not messed up the 2-0 and had him also been able to score from his sneaky attempt, his game score would have been pretty high. But that didn't happen.

In order for the young guys not to develop bad habits on this sunken ship, we have to get KJ, Chinakhov, and Sillinger to Cleveland.

Bring in Foudy. Call up Meyer, and Luoto when healthy. Let the kids dominate the AHL.
This post didn't age like wine

Crazy how hardly anyone has called out Voracek. He's -8 already, has 0 points (less than Gudbranson!!), and looks like a complete bum when playing.
Voracek was so good last season, that his current state is quite shocking. But I expect him to bounce back. He might have some nagging injury.

Gudbransson is also slowly getting better. Not a 4M guy, but like 3rd pair 2-3M guy if he can get better.
