Staal and Girardi...were not very good...in fact, uncharacteristically bad.

Yup. Staal looked off all night. Girardi was pretty bad, but he was better than Staal, and made the head's up play on Brassard's goal.

Also, I thought Stralman had an excellent game. Only reason Staal wasn't on the ice for 5 GA.

I usually will rip Hagelin due to him going to Michigan, I can't help it! However tonight and this series he's just been great, what a smart play to find MSL and a great SHG. He's been huge!

This is a much better feeling going into Tuesday's game than it was going into tonight.

Of course I'm still gonna be nervous and scared. But tonight it was "we really gotta win but even if we do we don't actually win anything yet." On Tuesday the stakes are just as high but it's gonna be "tonight could be the night."

Callahan is watching his buddies from the couch approach the finals because he didn't fire his agent or lower his demands.

Suppose that's a lesson in itself.

I'm going to send Cally a very big THANK YOU card.

I guess you forgot about that save in the 1st period.

The one on Gionta?

Was a very good save, but Gionta was also a bit handcuffed and the puck bounced on him a bit, gave Hank time to come across and close off the lower half of the net.

Hank was very good, but that Bouillon goal still has odor on it, to me.

Hags has been amazing, he needs more minutes IMO.
Im not sure if he does. The nice line rolling that AV is doing is keeping people fresh for MUCH longer, that might be just what allows Hags to be as explosive every shift as he is. Give him 5 minutes more every game, and wear and tear might reduce his impact.

Now, if its a couple of games into the finals, i'd say pull out all the stops, but we still have a potential 10 games left at this point :)

Stralman dashed across the ice for no reason to cover a Hab who was already covered, letting the Habs get the goal on the rush. Not sure why he did that. It was an awful play.

Makes me wonder what will be done with him after this season is done...

Whatever it is that has Hagelin playing this way, it is so welcome. He is a real bright spot.

Thought that was Girardi. If it was Stralman, yeah, bad play. Regardless of who it was, it was bad.
