So, they'd be an underdog, but so would any team in the East against Chicago or LA.

A couple things to remember; the Rangers have decent head-to-head records against Chicago and LA this year. It's a small sample size, but so is a playoff series.

Specialty teams are a concern, but look at the Rangers efficacy in 5 on 5 play.

Far and away better than anyone else in the playoffs so far. They've shut down the top player on each team they have faced so far.

Completely agree about this perception. Any other team from the East, other than Boston, would be viewed differently? Moreover, any other team from the East, other than Boston, that wouldn't be viewed as an underdog against even knocked off bunch from the West including Anaheim, San Jose or Blues in addition to Chicago or LA - I doubt it?

No doubt LA and Chicago are superior teams in my mind, and both have SCF experience, and 'Cups. They are the two best possession teams in the league with great depth in all facets. The Rangers are not far off, but are technically a lesser team. The gap is not so large that they could not beat either of them in a 7 game series, but they are going to have to play very well. All that matters is that once you are there, you have a chance.

Close out these scrubs from *****land and let's go from there.

Was there in 226 last night. Everyone stood up in front of us as soon as Marty got the puck. You could tell something magical was going to happen. There was a level of energy and noise that I'd never felt at the Garden before and I was there in 94 (not for game 7). But something about this is just absolutely magical. I can't quite put a finger on it, but there's something in the air with this team.

I was in 210. Was something special... And the many Habs fans who were in our section all of a sudden weren't there anymore :D

Regardless, you get me to a 7 game series for the Stanley Cup, and Ill happily buy into "anything can happen"

Those two teams no doubt have the offensive advantage, but I still think our blueline and goaltending is superior, and our ridiculous PK is a HUGE advantage.

94 was so different with the curse and being the best team in the league. Lots of pressure on a team that was supposed to win.

I thought this team was dead meat after game 4 vs. Pitt. Its amazing whats transpired in just 7 games since.

I wouldn't really call our defense better than Chicago's. More like even.

Obviously we need to get through Montreal first, but I don't know who I'd rather play. Both teams are superior offensively. LA has a better goalie than Chicago, but Chicago's D is better than LA's. It's close, and both teams would be favored over us, but neither are unbeatable.

I would call it better, saying it's even is perfectly fair, though.

I also think we have a superior bottom-6 to the Hawks. Their top-6 is no doubt stronger than ours, but I think our defense and timely scoring could handle the Hawks. They play similarly to us, really.

I wanted the Kings badly before their series started, but I am starting to flip flop.

Either way, both teams are phenomenal, deep teams with experience.

6:1 record. After terrible start to the season the Rangers did show all their best qualities during parts of the season but not consistently like these Western teams or Boston. Same in play-offs due to horrible schedule or injuries to key players.

We're one win away from the Stanley cup finals. Who would have believed it midway through this season?

Love this team.

Wanted no part of LA since day 1. I think the Rangers can win against Chicago more easily. LA and Boston are the two teams I didn't want the Rangers meeting. So far so good.

As I keep saying to me it comes down to who's in the net. I don't want any part of Quick if there is a choice.

Does anybody here have the gif's to Plekanac's and Subban's dives. And if anybody else embellishments as well.

Thanks in advance!

Idk in the CBC footage they show him and Kreider hugging on the bench and Kreider pops over the boards, Nash kind of stumbles as he hops over. Then when he gets to the pile he jumps on the back. Just slower there than everyone else.

Probably more than anything he's in shock by what's going on. He's never been involved in games like this or this far in the playoffs in his career. Probably just taking it all in and thinking to himself "holy crap!"

Yeah, he just gets a piece of it with the knob of his stick. Changes the trajectory ever so slightly.

I believe I read that him and Kreider have gotten very close over this regular season... Could have something to do with it

LA's group of forwards is scary, but I think we can handle them. I think our speed would once again play a big role, LA's blue line is not particularly fast.

Also wtf is with all this Price is the best goalie in the world at the moment? He's good, but he's no hank/quick/rask.

guy on there calling out Nash as running Tokarski yesterday too. Have they seen Nash play in New York before? He's terrified of any kind of contact. Only way he is crashing into the goalie on purpose is if he was possessed.[/QUOTE]

Kreider - Brandon Stark, Nash - Hodor.
