The team is built well. Marner is one of my favourite non-Sens player and it’s annoying seeing him get dunked on by everyone. Sometimes it’s warranted but man.

After years of seeing people gloat about first round exits I’m hoping for a Leafs championship this year or the next.
They should be 1 and 8, or at best, 2 and 7 in the playoffs.

Nope and that's the issue with the team. NuHockey does not provision that sort of reaction. They get pampered by the richest organization and all have sweet Muskoka cottages. Win or lose it's all caviar Darcy.
this idea of Muskoka where it's a) better than what's available to millionaires in many NHL cities, b) uniquely available to current Toronto Maple Leafs players, c) so good and nice that it causes anyone who owns real estate there to suspend all further ambition

I don’t know if they win or lose but at this point I’m looking for them to be the final girl in a Friday the 13th movie.
Are you going to stand there and scream and cry while you get stabbed or are you going to pick up a shovel, axe, whatever and whack him with it to survive. Win or lose I’m looking for that.

It's kind of fun having an extra day off randomly for the boys to stew and gather up their cojones to have to attempt a 4 game heater to save their room and regime. Imagine what's going through the heads of our superstar players and new additions at this moment. The tension is palpable and Leaf Nation is buzzing and frothing at the mouth to not be disgraced yet again.

It's do or die time like Big Papi succinctly put it.

Call him Big Papi when he backs that thang up. Get twerkin boys.

Prediction, Matthews and Nylander show up, the other 2 in the big 4 don't. They get great goaltending....and I have no idea if they win, I think I'll tune into the 3rd period.

I will root for the comeback story, no question, though there has been little evidence to support that they can win 4 straight. I kid myself when I say I won’t cheer for them, but…

You play the game
With hearts of stone.
You lose again,
You’re on your own.

As O'Dog said yesterday, if you are going to close us out, we are going to take out a piece of you doing it. I can't see this team taking a piece out of anybody other than their GM at contract negotiation time.

No, he’ll float around over there too and will do fine until the medal rounds when guys focus a little more.
That wasn't the case last year though.

But I expect these Swedes always show their real selves at World Championship every year.

Yeah, this is what I lean towards as well.

The most leaf thing will be to get 3 great games in a row and then choke completely in the 3rd period of game 7.

There are great places to live everywhere depending on what you want in life. I mean you can head on down to Oklahoma and get a 12,000sf home decked out for like 3million (4.5m CDN) and it varies but players do talk about the organization absolutely, 100% being top notch every perk where that's not the case in all situations.

There is a difference. Also they generate a lot of money from marketing here.

Here's the thing, they really could comeback, Florida hasn't been all that impressive and is a flawed team. They've barely edged out 2 1-goal victories with our core players scoring 0 goals. If Matthews/Marner/Tavares come alive they could pull it off

But it's the core, these guys are frauds and losers. I expect nothing from them
Hard to argue with you. This is exactly what their playoff history has shown us. Even moreso this year, because I believe Dubas did what was needed to surround this core with some veteran leadership. So in my eyes, these playoff results are squarely on the core players!

It has always been on the core. Not one of them has been able to exert their will and dominate and win a game 7 when it counted (yes JT scored the OT winner but he slept for 60 minutes that game).

Woll has a much better chance of doing this than Murray though.

True, and he's looked good but he is a rookie and was in there when they lost last game - not his fault by any stretch, but his coming in didn't exactly spark them to victory.

Whereas Murray (albeit a few years ago) has a Cup run to his name and he's a relatively fresh face given what I mentioned above. If somehow he can return to his very best form he could give the team some confidence that they have none of now.

A very big long shot and he may be rusty haven't not played but if he's ready to go, that's what Dubas got him for right?

I won't make a prediction because I'll be baselessly accused of cheering for the Leafs to lose when in fact there's zero evidence I've ever done so.

This core managed to stave off elimination with wins in games 5 and 6 in the 2018 Boston series and game 4 in the 2020 Columbus series. With this experience I think there's hope they can at least win next game and shift series back to Toronto.

I fully expect this team to win 3 in a row,
and then lay an egg at home in game 7. It would be the ultimate troll job by a core that has trolled us for 7 years

When you really think about it, all they gotta do is win tomorrow, win at home, force a game 6, battle out a win back in Florida and then use the home crowd in a do or die game 7. It’s not impossible, but it’s gotta start Wednesday and the effort has to be over the top. I want to see this team fight for their season

Show us that they care about game. And don't think that passed the 1st round was already good enough.
