Just got them in. Will update the GDT later

Would be happy with Drouin and Slaf were switched.

I like Monahan with Suzuki and Caufield. Reunite the DDG line even though I don't think they've been that good. Dach and Slaf have been playing well together and Anderson compliments them well.

Just doesn't make sense for Slaf to be on the 4th line. Might as well send him down to Laval if he's playing < 10 min with plugs like Hoffman.

Geez, you look forward to watching a game then find out Sammy M is playing again.

Expect at LEAST one bad goal tonight.

Why the heck is Primeau being called up???

Why don't we have a back up goalie in Laval under an NHL contract who can be called up in these situations when Allen or Montembault aren't available???

Let Primeau get a full year in Laval as the exclusive number 1 without being yo-yoed! It's not complicated.

Reminder that we have a standing thread for the tank talk. Tank talk in the GDT will considered be trolling.

Not only that, but Anderson has been explosive night in and out, he's been really good. That reward for his hard work is the 4th line? Ok Marty.

Anderson isn't on the 4th line. And, the Dach line should be our 2nd most offensive line. Dach has more offense than Dvorak.

I would think Dvorak needs a playmaker like Drouin more than Dach does. But we'll see how Dach and Drouin do. Drouin may help Dach get some scoring chances of his own - on the few times he doesn't turn the puck over.

If Slafkovsky is going to play in Montreal they should be prioritizing his development over raising Drouin and Dadnov’s trade value from future considerations to a 6th round pick (I think Hoffman will have no value at the deadline since he has term left).

In saying that it’s only game 4 and there is a long ways to go.

What is Drouin's trade value? I don't even think someone picks him up for free if they waived him.... That's a sunk cost and a lost cause.

From the dadonov perspective, yes, I think the plan was to eventually flip him right when they traded for him, and they seem committed to give him more leash to find his top level. Monahan is on the same boat, except he seems to be taking advantage of the opportunity so far.

Slaf on the 4th line. For f*** sake will they ever learn.
Joe Thornton spent his entire first season on the 4th line. He finished the year with 7 points. The problem with development in Montreal is not that we shelter kids. That's a good thing at least in the 1st season or two. The problem is we throw them under the bus after 20 games.

Dach and Anderson is a complete mismatch. One generates his offense through rush chances and transition. The other wants to to slow things down and hold possession in the offensive zone. They are polar opposites. Then you cap that line off with Drouin who I guess needs to be slotted somewhere but isn't helping anyone.

There's two types of booing in Montreal. There's the respect booing, and then there's the booing of players that are just acting like jackasses.

I don't think any boos towards guys like Avery and Lucic in the past were out of respect. Certainly Lucic has a questionable history at the bell center with his antics.
Yeah, I get that...just saying, the booing doesn't just happen for anyone.

You know the first ones that want Slaf given more responsibilities are the first ones to complain that the Habs don't know how to develop players because the rush them......

Until they prove otherwise, this new management/coaching team deserves the benefit of the doubt. Stop analyzing every day to day decision...look at the big picture. Habs have three assets that they need to promote in the short term. Getting teams to bite on Drouin, Dadenov and Hoffman is important for the rebuild.

I'd let Slaf play this one game and then send him down. Call him back up for the final 4 games of the season and see how he has progressed and what he needs to work on over the Summer. 9-10 minutes a night isn't doing much for him.

I think I am good for only about 1 1/2 periods tonight or so. Hopefully all the fireworks happen before then. Looking for at least some exciting hockey, FFS. So far, other than the part of the Leafs game, this has been very reminiscent of Ducharme hockey entertainment-wise.

sorry, hard to look at that garbage and tell sometimes. 100% Dach should be ahead of Dvorak.
