What exactly are you thinking that MSL is seeing in Dadonov that you aren't?

He barely plays on the PP and he's been fairly effective 5v5. He's also been foisted into a PK role that he's NEVER played (he almost has more PK time on ice in three games this season than he's had in all of his previous seasons in the NHL. Combined).

Honestly, he's been one of the veterans doing what we hoped they'd do, insulate young guys and grow/maintain TDL value.
Fair points but MSL praising him when it's obviously not warranted is what I am referring to

You want to give the Habs a chance? Play an energy guy on the 4th line and start holding slugs like Hoffman accountable.

MSL constantly praises Dadonov....what does he see that we don't?

Maybe you adjust the 2nd PP unit and give Slaf a shot there?

We are in bad shape when players like Wideman QB the 1st unit
This year is about development, I still think Slaf has to spend time in laval to get more minutes. Yes he could be given those minutes here but who do you take them away from. We can't park Dadonov, Drouin and Hoffan in the press box. Ultimately you have to play them so that they have value come the trading deadline.

There are, like, 5 guys on the roster that deserve praise by that measure. Its a rebuild, we don't need MSL to cosplay as Therrien.

I worry about MSL's line combos

No kidding, MSL and his line combos are already making me mad. Why can't a new coach make it 1 month before pissing me off?

Anderson is a rush player, which makes him ideal for suzuki and caufield. Now he goes to a line that won't be helping anyone who is involved in it.

I don't understand that switch, and that's no slight against monahan who has looked pretty good IMO.

I also think it's getting clear that the Habs don't intend on keeping slaf around for much longer with the way they are using him.

Chances of winning pretty much went from 5% to zero now...

Hopefully everything is ok for Allen though. On that note, they just don't learn... leave Primeau in Laval... sacrifice somebody else FFS.
Unfortunately I dont think they could callup anyone else but Primeau as I'm pretty sure Poulin is on a AHL deal. Not that I agree with that approach as I was a firm believer we needed to sign a veteran nhl backup for instances when Allen is out in order to keep Primeau in the A.

I think it's time to send Slafkovsky to Laval if he's not going to be playing on a top line or with good players

He got a nice idea on how the NHL feels like. He can work on his game in the minors and get called back in a few months to get a few more games and finish off the remaining games he will have left of his 9 games towards the end of the season.

If Slafkovsky is going to play in Montreal they should be prioritizing his development over raising Drouin and Dadnov’s trade value from future considerations to a 6th round pick (I think Hoffman will have no value at the deadline since he has term left).

In saying that it’s only game 4 and there is a long ways to go.

Or if you’re going to play him on the 4th line, put him on the PP at least. But nope, got to keep playing far worse wingers that keep failing.

its as if he's punishing him at this point. If he's here, let the kid play on the PP or just get rid of him to Laval. What's the point? Why would you put him with Hoffman as well?

Here we go again....let's spell it out for those who missed the playbook

1. Habs view Slafs development as long term
2. Getting Hoffman, Dadenov and Drouin going is the most important task of MSL. These are their trade assets that need to be increased and made desirable.

Not only that, but Anderson has been explosive night in and out, he's been really good. That reward for his hard work is the 4th line? Ok Marty.
