I told you not to jinx it!Spread was 8.5 Pat you asshole!
It is so f***ing annoying.Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift might be the most annoying people on earth
The Mac Jones saga is so similar to Mitch Trubisky it’s scary. Trubisky had 3-4 years of “he’s got no O line and no weapons” as his get out of jail free card, which was valid, until people finally realized that it was more than that.I think you won't know what you got in a QB unless you surround them with SOME resemblance of talent.
I have to admit, I have seen clips of the podcast he does with his brother and I usually laugh. He might be annoying but he actually seems like a decent dude. Never gets into trouble off the field, just a bit of a hardo sometimes.Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift might be the most annoying people on earth
I know I’m in the minority with the rest of civilization, because Taylor Swift has been annoying me for 10 years now……But the fact that she’s going to Travis Kelce’s games, in a private box, and gets ridiculous media coverage…….THAT somehow crosses the line all of a sudden? It is so f***ing annoying.
The Niners didn‘t do anything special with Purdy, other than get lucky. It’s not like they had this long term development plan for him on the bench for 1-2 years. He was a practice squad guy who had 2 QBs go down ahead of him, his rookie year, and he made the most of it. That’s a credit to him, not the Niners.I think there was an avenue to make Trubisky a good QB and I think there was an avenue to make Jones a good QB. They’re just not flawless prospects and could be ruined. Mitch was ruined and Mac seems to be on the way.
Look at what the Niners are doing with Purdy. That’s how you raise a QB that’s not a can’t miss talent
Very QB friendly head coach/system and great weapons helps.I know I’m in the minority with the rest of civilization, because Taylor Swift has been annoying me for 10 years now……But the fact that she’s going to Travis Kelce’s games and gets ridiculous media coverage…….THAT somehow crosses the line all of a sudden?

Trey Lance had those same weapons and system.Very QB friendly head coach/system and great weapons helps.

Sadly for Pats fans, Mac Jones is Mitch Trubisky v 2.0…
And couldn't do anything with it.Trey Lance had those same weapons and system.
The point of my original post was that the debate that Pats fans are having about Jones, are EXACTLY the same debates that Bears fans had about Trubisky 4 years ago. Exactly. And you know what? BOTH sides were right.Disagree.
What @CDJ says is true here. And that's exactly what the Patriots should do. But are failing to do. But it's not just the offense that's lacking, what is there on defense that scares you? That one player the opponents gotta plan for? Judon? Gonzalez? Reality is we don't have any stars.
Not saying every QB will be a success in that situation but the chance of success is a lot higher than most. Jimmy G looked great in it and even Darnold looked good in it in preseason.Trey Lance had those same weapons and system.
The niners have him surrounded by a good offensive line and tons of playmakers.I know I’m in the minority with the rest of civilization, because Taylor Swift has been annoying me for 10 years now……But the fact that she’s going to Travis Kelce’s games, in a private box, and gets ridiculous media coverage…….THAT somehow crosses the line all of a sudden?

Trey Lance brutally fractured his ankle and was coming from the FCS. He was never going to be an immediate success. Always a long term play, and honestly I think he’s still a decent long term play.Trey Lance had those same weapons and system.
Defense has plenty of high end talent, a bunch of them are unfortunately now injuredDisagree.

And I was told Trey is a "can't miss prospect".
If Dak goes down, we'll see if he can do anything.
Really? Your definition of high end talent must be different than mine then. Mediocre rosters will have a tendency to lower the grading scale though, so that’s understandable.Defense has plenty of high end talent, a bunch of them are unfortunately now injured
Jonathan Jones consistently grades out as one of the better corners in football. Uche had 11.5 sacks last year. There are really no bad players on their defense outside of their #5 and #6 cornerback. It’s a good defense, and today they weren’t even the problem when they had to play CB’s #5 and #6 against a great WR group.Really? Your definition of high end talent must be different than mine then. Matthew Judon
There. That’s the list.
Christian Gonzalez is on probation until he plays at least a half season.
Look, I’m not trying to split hairs here, but there’s a difference between “ no bad players” and you original post of the Pats having a lot of ”high end talent.” There’s a pretty big gap between the 2. We can disagree on that, but I will say that I think you have a tendency to overvalue talent on the teams that you like. Not just the Pats, but the Sox too. Thats not a bad thing…….that’s what fans do.Jonathan Jones consistently grades out as one of the better corners in football. Uche had 11.5 sacks last year. I also have no problem putting Gonzalez up there as a high end player already btw, I don’t need to put a probationary period on him after how he fared in what was probably the toughest stretch of matchups a CB has had this year (Brown, Hill, Wilson, Lamb until he got hurt)
So yeah we probably do have different scales, I actually give credit to good players for being good at football and you just want to be understandably pissy after a rough stretch to start the year (which isn’t on the defense whatsoever). If you want to lay blame on the offense for having no high end talent outside then by all means, I won’t stop you.
I think you are splitting hairs, I think you’re wrong about the talent level on defense, and I appreciate your feedback. Thank you for sharing. I will be sufficiently pissy pants going forward to appease you. This Patriots defense sucks, no good players anywhere. Everything bad.Look, I’m not trying to split hairs here, but there’s a difference between “ no bad players” and you original post of the Pats having a lot of ”high end talent.” There’s a pretty big gap between the 2.
