Nanu Nanu @macmaroon

I'm typically on the optimistic side but I echo the sentiments regarding the unlikelihood of a W tonight.

I mentioned yesterday that I disagreed with starting Hellebuyck against Nashville, but when he leaves the rink with another shutout it's hard to argue too much with the decision. That said, this is kind of a shite position to put your backup in. It's going to require a big time performance from The Brick and most importantly, a strong desire on the boys part if they want to win the last game of 2024. It would be oh so sweet if they did.

The schedule has done the Jets no favors here, but Ottawa proved it's not impossible to win the second of a btb. After a tough loss against our Jets, they went into Minnesota and beat the Wild. It is pretty ridiculous they have to face Colorado again next week coming off another btb, but that's neither here nor there, yet.

No matter how the game goes this evening, there's not much to sulk in your champaign about as a Jets fan. Aside from the playoff series against this Avalanche team, it's been a damn swell year of Winnipeg Jets hockey. I wouldn't want to pull... for another club.

Here's hoping 2025 is even better and I wish all you fans of the best team in the NHL a happy and healthy New Year!

Btw, don't forget to constantly update @The Blue Baron about what's happening during the game 😉
I honestly think that Arniel and co looked at these two games and went for 2 points in the low hanging fruit. Better come out 1-1 than have Comrie maybe cost us a win last night and still get beaten by the Avs tonight and end up 0-2

What's the deal with Mittlestadt? Back to the Buffalo ways?

What's the deal with Mittlestadt? Back to the Buffalo ways?

5 points(all assists) and 6 shots in his last 17 games.

His poor speed is really impacting his ability to produce with the way Bednar wants his teams to play. Unfortunate as he had a great playoff including the series against you guys, but he’s playing slow, timid, not engaging at all.

This will be the first game he’s demoted from the 2nd line to the 4th line. Coaches hoping he gets out of this funk ASAP.

Let's hope Stan has another big game.
Yeah, let's hope Stan stumbles in the dressing room and sprains something serious. I'm getting so tired of seeing our giant pylon beaten by faster skaters, which is practically everybody on the other team. Replace him with somebody else with more speed and less galumphing size.

Never understood this obsession with size. Just because he's tall doesn't make him a useful hockey player.

Speaking as a man who once topped out at 6'3", I totally agree with you.

(And no I dont know what that comes out as in metric.}

But I enjoy sulking in my Champagne.:dunno:

As long as no one spoils I’d give Jets game priority if not see y’all on the backside. @bustamente

So somebody came along who cut you down to size?
Hardy har har. It's just natural shrinkage for old guys. Women do it twice as fast they say. When we got married, the wife was 6'2" and when she ordered a new cape last fall she didn't even hit 6 feet. Still stands straight and tall and the LOTR freaks do double takes thinking she's the elf queen or something.

Here's a quick quote - Short answer: yes, and it occurs even more rapidly in the elderly. Women lose an average of two inches between age 30 and 70, but then the process speeds up a bit. By age 80, most women will have shrunk a total of three inches.

Just like Heinola had a good game and I thought he should stay in for the next one, I think Stan deserves that as well after having a good game last night.

Unfortunately, Stanley can't get the full Heinola treatment unless we play him on his off-side with Logan Stanley as his partner, but maybe making him play on the second night of a b2b against the speedy Avs with Comrie in net is equivalent... :sarcasm:

I was 5'11" in high school and I'm 5'10" now. Goddamn gravity!

Speed hasn’t done much considering Stan has created more offensively than Tiny.
Also, wow wishing injuries on jets players real classy.

No, your thinking hobbits. Elfs are full size and the wife has a thin face and passing resemblance to Cate Blanchette. About 20 years ago she had a knee replaced and got a stick to help after. Now she's got a long black walking stick with celtic runes on the top, wears a black cape to the floor, has long straight grey hair, and walks slow and upright. Her friends all envy the Galadriel vibe.

Jeez I wish the bleeding game would start soon.
