Crazy how a guy can go from being the teams top scoring winger to essentially finding himself on his way out of the league. Almost like he was only that because he played with Pettersson.
It cuts both ways. EP fell off a cliff after that trade, and is right back to where he was pre-Kuzmenko. 68p in 82 games.... but with less goals.
Kuz also led the team in PP goals, in a season where EP had his worst PP performance, so good luck attributing that to him.
Funny how the same crowd that cried 'unsustainable Shooting %%!!', ignored the same thing in regards to EP. His big season is full of red hot %'s while on the ice. Everyone with him was scoring, and few were going in against. It was all ES and SH, which weren't likely to repeat. That led into the whole Petey-O start to last season,,, but then the sample size grew, things cooled off, and EP dropped like a rock. He hasn't shown to have that star ability against the grain.
The difference with Miller, is that he has had equal peaks, both with Boeser at his best, and absolute worst. Both with a high and low scoring team overall. A lot of people trying to pretend the 21-22 team was playing pond hockey, but that team was pretty stingy, and had a real shot at the playoffs before late injuries to both Bo and Demko. He had more individual effort plays, was less reliant on linemates or any statistical anomalies. His best play is not only better, but also isn't an outlier to date.
EP has done nothing this season, to change the correct answer here from last year. Most are voting for 'talent/future/value', not who is and who has been the actual better player.
