When this team was playing tight defense early in the season people were complaining that they were boring. How do you like the games recently? I would rather win 2-1 or 3-2 games than this bullshit. I still think getting Kakko and hopefully Chytil back will help the overall defense but they need some changes.

Time to go back to sitting back in a conservative 1-3-1 and play Venus Flytrap hockey. With the personnel now, that's the only way to go forward.

Demko's only had to be positionally sound to make his stops. Because all of our offensive production is predicated on tap-ins and slam-dunk attempts off passes. He doesn't need to deal with dekes or Rangers cutting in close, cutting laterally on him.

Vancouver actually has guys in position to prevent that.

Bingo. We got to within 3-2 and that's when they turned it up again. I was in the middle of writing a post that the Nucks were sitting back and we still couldn't make a dent when Panarin sniped one. But it's basically only Panarin right now who can beat a goalie clean 5v5.
