One huge difference when in the offensive zone is that that the dmen step up keep loose pucks in near the boards. It was frustrating to watch during Lalonde's reign. They would always back off leading to the opponents getting the puck out easily.

I mean. They lost their best player tragically and traded Laine. Their goalie watched his best friend killed defending him, his son, his wife and unborn baby, among several other people. which he's never mentally recovered from.

Honestly that team has been through such turmoil it's insane.
