Anyone else getting sick of this response without seeing these guys get the bag-skate treatment? Like holy f***, if I gave this excuse every time I underperformed at work they’d literally throw me out of the building. The core players of this team are too comfortable.
Funny you should say this I thought the same thing when I saw Coyle’s quote. Imagine going to your boss at the end of the day and them asking how your day went…..to which you reply ‘I just wasn’t ready today. I mean I thought when I opened my laptop I could do it, but I had a coffee, went on Facebook for an hour…….chatted with Joanne in accounting about the weather for….like 20 minutes…..and never got back on track. I need to bear down from 9am on. There’s no excuse. Anywho…..have a good night and I’ll see you tomorrow!’

They played a soft game yesterday. They need to hit and finish checks. They don’t do that, they get smoked. I didn’t see one hit given the whole game. Zadarov was the only one. You. Ant play that type of game with this roster. Columbus probably couldn’t believe they could do what they wanted with no push back.

I’d be less annoyed if they went with “we tried but we just suck” lol

Missed this one.

Sounds a lot like the early season Monty team to me. PK sucks. Team cashes it in when things get tough. McAvoy in the box for 2 Columbus PP goals. At least he didn't hurt his plus/minus. Freddy (-14) and Lohrei (-13) pulling away with worst plus/minus on the team.

Goalie combo now both under .900 SP. Korpi (.895) and Sway (.887).

Sean Monahan 9 goals 34 points , contract 5 mil , expires when he is just 34 ...Elias Lindholm 19 pts, nearly 8 mil, contract expires when he is 37, not bad just 6 and half more years, well done Donnie.
Always liked Monahan and when the Flames were begging for someone to take him off their hands, so much they were willing to throw in their 1st round pick if another team was willing to take on the last year of his 6 mil contract. I was hoping Sweeney would take that chance. Of course he didn’t, but it Worked out great for Jeff Gorton and the Habs. Asset management at its best. Monahan played well enough for the Habs to earn a new contract and then at the following deadline the Canadiens dealt him to the Jets for another first.

Canadiens eventually received two number one picks for 2years of Sean Monahan.

Stats say Bruins outhit Blue Jackets 18-15.

Columbus defensemen credited with 1 hit. Guess the Bruins didn't have the puck very much in the offensive zone.

Thought that went away with Monty.

Who were to perpetrators this time?
Columbus' second goal they were out there forever and went for the long change - forget who the one D was that stayed on the ice and caughed it up. A whole bunch of guys got a -1 for just stepping on the ice. Wasn't a coaching mistake it was on the player/s

I hate Sweeney and can't wait for him to be fired bc he is too p***y to trade one of these spoiled bratty vets like Coyle or Carlo.

I don't trust him to not get fleeced trading McAvoy or Pasternak of course so will live with their ups and downs but not overpaid 3rd liners/3rd pairing D.

And trades are fun as a fan. F him for refusing to make any unless its us coughing up way too many futures at the TDL. Dude started life as a GM on third base and proceeded to blow 3 picks in a row in a generational draft its a joke he still has a job.

I'm sure that's a major concern for GM's everywhere.

Was driving home from Florida all day, wth happened?
I was home in Florida parked in front of my TV
a bad line change lead to the Columbus second goal
and the wheels fell off

penalties killed them and a missed call by the ref (not an excuse just what happened)
doesn't matter because they still are having PP problems and last night trying to pass the puck too much again, rather than take the shot.
resulting in many broken plays and no sustained pressure in the offensive zone.

As has been a trend this year, if Boston goes down by 2 or more goals they tend to open up from their checking game, which creates gaps in their defensive coverage with other the team(s) taking advantage of Boston trying to rush and force the play.
This results in missed break out passes, intercepted passes, and catches most of the team trying to move up ice leaving the defense undermanned against the opponents counter attack (defending the odd man rush).

Silver linings all over

Not worried they still end up top 5 100 + point record
This team doesn't remind you of the 15+16 9th place DNQs?

Sure the East is way worse but I think that is who we are and we won't put any distance between us and 9th. But in those days there wasn't much difference between Team 1 and Team 10. Even in 2010 our last terrible regular season the best teams in the East finished 5-8 and we would have been hosting the ECFs if we held on vs Philly.

Swayman is basically a less proven and not as good Rask from that period. Tuukka's 2010 win vs Buffalo was better than Swaymans series vs Toronto last year.
