Mildly hot take but there is no way Holloway breaks out here like he has in St. Louis.

Here he’d either be playing either Brown and Janmark or deferring every play to McDrai.
I disagree. We had Podkolzin and Kapanen getting chances. He would have too.

Almost like the standards are different for a supposed starter vs. his backup.

Or do you hold Derek Ryan to the same standard as McDavid?

You don’t have people laughably claiming Ryan is better than McDavid though like they do with Pickard/Skinner.

Of course Skinner should be held to a higher standard than Pickard.

Not that that’s what goes on around here though. When talking about singular goals against and the blame that gets associated with it.

It’s been two games in a row now where we’ve had things relatively under control, did something dumb, then were basically unable to respond whatsoever to the momentum boost to the other team.

This was a problem repeatedly in the playoffs last year too. Needs to be something the recognize and fix. Momentum swings happen when you give up goals, but we have to learn how to make those last a shift or two instead of 5-10 minutes, or at times the rest of games.

Yes. We are still an immature team in regards to this. We love shooting ourselves in the foot constantly. Make things harder than it should be.

We don't have good goalies so you can't be diking around like we do constantly

Oilers should be up like 3-0 in this game already... instead they are in a tight game where another sleepy mistake makes this game a toss up... where they should be cruising to a win vs this Ducks team.

The ducks looked kinda helpless for 15 minutes. But one could get the impression, we are looking for a way to help them out. Still confident though,

Holloway plays a pretty forecheck/puck battle/go to hard areas type of game though just like Pod, more skill and less physicality than Pod but he'd be a great fit for McDrai.
He was already a good fit for Drai in the playoffs. With how much ice time Podz and Kap are getting in the top 6, Holloway likely sees that same opportunity.

That said, f*** Holloway.

Pods on the sweet feed from Drai. Puck goes through the Ducks defenders, but not through Pod, hits his skate, not even ready for pass or blade on ice. This is nearly half a season in.. Pods unreliability there in scoring cost us an easy goal there.

Well if the stats showed DR was close to McD then I'd be very concerned. Picks stats are very much close to Stuuuuuu

I don’t know how anything could watch those two goalies play and say that Pickard is anywhere close.

Pickard gets choice games against shit opponents. It isn’t complicated to see why his numbers might look enhanced.

He tries to play that type of game but Podz is better at it and more durable at it.

Holloway is more talented with the puck obviously.
