We thought secondary scoring and before the deadline we needed another top four defenseman.
None really. Probably the best team of the cap era, although you wouldn't have believed it based on the internet. No goaltending, too soft, too small, too old, too many Euros and too many playoff chokers.
There was a little bit of concern regarding goaltending for the playoffs too I remember. Especially after we lost the first two games to Nashville.
They went on like a ten game skid where they were like 2 and 8 in the weeks leading up to the playoffs too.
I have to wonder if Holland and Babcock are seeing eye to eye on this. Kindl was definitely benched in the 3rd period last game until Kronwall got hurt. I can't remember the last time Babs outright benched someone.
Maybe Holland is begging anyone to take Kindl and someone finally offered to send a scout to the game?

What about L.A. last year? What were their holes come Spring time?
A Flashy GDT is always nice.
Last family dinner of the Holiday season will interrupt some of this game but hoping we come out strong. Would be nice to have a good stretch on the road here after we didn't do all we should have with the long home stretch.
I don't think Ottawa is a very good squad, pin them deep and look for rebounds. The Wings should win this one, hoping the offense has woke back up and puts up a four spot.
Here's a fun stat: DeKeyser and Quincey are our most productive defensemen at even strength. Ouellet and Lashoff are actually better, but haven't played more than 10 games a piece.
Lashoff playing protected minutes in a few games means nothing other than he isn't good enough to play against good NHL players. So its not really a fun stat. Its meaningless at best.
Really is cool that Babcock thinks so highly of Sheahan, that he nks he can play Pav and Z together, because Riley can handle the 2C spot.
That's awesome.
