I can't really imagine that Matt line doing too well defensively but I can see them beating my expectations.

One other note - Brad Stuart told me he expects to play with Matt Tennyson. Figure other d-pairs are Boyle and Irwin; Vlasic and Braun.

Nvm, no Irwin-Tennyson pair.

Irwin-Tennyson would be a bad idea. Both need a veteran presence to help them along.

On the flip side, that means that we have two pairings with offensive-minded rookies on them. Luckily Vancouver only has one scary line, but that leaves them to Vlasic and Braun...

Pretty sure we're rolling this:

Havlat-Thornton-Burns
Marleau-Couture-Wingels
Galiardi-Pavelski-Sheppard
Burish-Gomez-Desjardins

Boyle-Irwin
Vlasic-Braun
Tennyson-Stuart

Assuming we trade Clowe and the return can't make it to San Jose by 7:30 or is not an NHL player.

Unless it's a player from Vancouver I highly doubt anyone could get here in 4 hours to make the line up.

Is this the first time a bay area born player has played a game for the Sharks?

He wasn't born here, he was born in Minnesota. He moved here when he was 14. But he will be the first Jr. Shark to suit up for the big club.

Man if we can't beat a badly banged up Canucks team ...

BLOW IT UP!!!!

Apparently we are... we already traded Murray, and it sounds like Clowe, Handzus, and Boyle are on the way out... how much more blowing should we do?

Wait, that came out wrong.

I should have said "bay area native" instead of born here; HF lists his hometown as Pleasanton. It's cool none-the-less.

Agreed, I get your point. He was a Sharks fan, that's what matters. In fact, he said that if it hadn't been SJ calling, he probably would have gone back to school for his senior year.
