People don't think we play any type of system. We do play with a system, its a transitional puck possession approach.

Lots of freewheeling.

The problem is we don't quite have the players and experience to make it work.
The problem is that it can't be the only thing in your arsenal

It's very clear what we're seeing. Quinn is too dogmatic, strict, and stifling offensively.

He leaves and the team scores 9 in 2 periods then goes on a great run offensively.

He gets back then BAM! 5 shots a period. Players gripping their sticks, feeling Quinn breathing down their necks, reluctant to play offense to avoid being "taught" more Quinnology.

That is what I was thinking too. Everyone is holding their sticks tight because Quinn is back behind the bench.

Young players like Kakko, Lafreniere are probably terrified to make a mistake and lose the little ice time they get.

Quinn has no idea with puck support is. Everyone says "just got to the hard areas" but we don't do any of the necessary work before that.

That's the way Quinn coaches. Just be hard and tough without actually taking the steps.
The brute force approach. I guess that might work in college, if competition is more uneven, but that’s beyond a travesty here.

Rangers straight up don't feel like playing hockey today. Atrocious scheduling and some seriously bad bounces, and you find yourself down 0-3 going into the third. I really want to be pissed at them for this performance but given the circumstances you really can't be.

That shot by Panarin or the Oshie face-goal go in and it's an entirely different situation

His excuse too is it’s the first time he has spoken to Kravtsov. So because he’s been away from the team two weeks the earth rotates when he says? Get on zoom and speak to the kid. Talk to him after practices. What a complete moron this guy is. I really do think he’s a **** communicator. He was supposed to be known for that too. First game back and it’s 3-0 and we have less than 10 shots heading into the third. This is disgraceful. I hope they get no shots in the third for Gorton to see.

I don’t blame Quinn for everything. I am not a fan but he is not the only problem with this team.

That said, did anyone expect his return game to go any differently?

Yeah, just shook my head and said, so much for getting one goal back heading into the 3rd.
In all fairness, though, I don’t think many of us expected much out of this weekend after how we embarrassed the Flyers. They were gonna come out hard yesterday. We used our best goalie and the bulk of our energy then as well. No gas in the tank and a third stringer in net. What else should we have expected? It’s not professional; it’s not acceptable. But it’s the norm with this team.

The dump and chase and chip and chase or whatever it is gets turned back on too. There's this disengage by lines to generate offense. It feels like a get on and get off once you've done your thing type of a mentality as opposed to guys owning the ice and trying to score.
