One team desperate to make the playoffs and the other team already clinched a spot pretty much and this is what we get

For the first time all year I may skip the third. I’m so ******* disgusted right now it’s taking every ounce of restraint not to bash the remote to pieces. I hate this coach. What a worthless, know-nothing hack. Gorton, wake up.
Me too. I’ve watched every game I could for YEARS. This is the first time I’m thinking of intentionally skipping the 3rd. I might do it. It must feel kind of freeing.

Rangers in Day games...

it doesnt help that they were scheduled for games less than 24 hours apart. this used to be against NHL protocol.

If they are that tired they should give some more time to kids like Lafreniere who should be fresh because he is never played.

And other teams have the same thing happen, this isn't exclusive to the Rangers and does not absolve them from sucking.

It's very clear what we're seeing. Quinn is too dogmatic, strict, and stifling offensively.

He leaves and the team scores 9 in 2 periods then goes on a great run offensively.

He gets back then BAM! 5 shots a period. Players gripping their sticks, feeling Quinn breathing down their necks, reluctant to play offense to avoid being "taught" more Quinnology.
Idk. Kakko tried a million dekes. Smith shooting 20 ft wide. Pucks just out of reach when people are open. It's a combination of shooting selves in the foot and timing being off. But the PP is legit a systems issue. Same zone entry and same work the puck to the point right away

Hard to believe that there’s people on these boards that still don’t believe this pile of steaming trash is on the coach after watching the last 5 games... there’s more here than just “the same systems”

In all fairness, though, I don’t think many of us expected much out of this weekend after how we embarrassed the Flyers. They were gonna come out hard yesterday. We used our best goalie and the bulk of our energy then as well. No gas in the tank and a third stringer in net. What else should we have expected? It’s not professional; it’s not acceptable. But it’s the norm with this team.

Yeah, I didn’t expect much, they needed to win, yesterday , and expected this game to be a toss up. But now potentially back to back loses, not good for them trying to take Boston in that last playoff spot.

All 4 lines are focused less on offense and more on the 200 ft game. Is that bad, I don't know. All we're seeing is the result is unacceptable offense.

The dump and chase and chip and chase or whatever it is gets turned back on too. There's this disengage by lines to generate offense. It feels like a get on and get off once you've done your thing type of a mentality as opposed to guys owning the ice and trying to score.

Rangers are chip and chasing cause they don't have a choice.

Washington has been clogging the neutral zone all game.

Jones talking about how great the Capitals game plan fits them in division play. Doesn’t mention Rangers have winning record against them.

Your Anaheim Ducks have a better chance at making playoffs than us. Enjoy watching Zegras

The brute force approach. I guess that might work in college, if competition is more uneven, but that’s beyond a travesty here.
He coaches like fans post on the internet.

Just go. Just do. Just play harder. Just shoot.

There's a process. Are we not getting chances because we just don't want to go to high-danger areas or do the Capitals have an entire gameplan to keep us away from there?

Our coach has no idea how to draw them out of those areas. We don't have any offensive tactics or team attack. It's all free-wheeling. That only works for Zibanejad and Panarin.
