God i love it, they HAD to change the Suzuki line it was time, one day byron wont be in this line up anymore, and still cant figure out where they stick Staal lol, maybe replaces suzuki on that 3rd line and we shift him to wing for a bit, its the most ideal thing imo

Byron hate aside though, that 4th line was MONEY for us at the beginning of the year til they switched it up, noticed they were back together at the end of last game, they are a handful to deal with, much rather have Perry on the 3rd line

I actually found JD to be more effective in other areas than those 2 except for the past few games.

“Effective” isn’t the right word here. “Noticeable”? He looks good at times, but it isn’t effective.

His assists total is good, but also misleading. I am seeing him hustling, but doing nothing, unless he is open and leading a rush. Amazing talent, but just doesn't use it every night. He had an ok start, but has been awful recently.

Like those lines...........some consideration to dropping Drouin to the 4th and moving Perry up to the 3rd line.

Yeah if Caufield comes, Drouin-Evans-Perry could be a nice 4th line with some spark

F1, F2, and F3 roles are way too fluid shift-to-shift to base lineup combinations on them IMO.

Exactly right. It’s situational, not pre-determined. Too many other things to consider when drawing up lines.

I have watched JD closely, and it has not been pretty from my perspective. We might be seeing different things, and that's ok. His assists total is good, but also misleading. Very noticeable as the team starts playing better, he doesn't. A pp specialist of sorts. He gets way too much TOI.
Hoping Seattle picks him up....just my 2 cents, I know many agree, and many disagree.
Would love to see him get it going and pick up some goals, he has a great wrist, and snapshot, but he is too far out on the perimeter to use it. He almost never goes to the dirty areas. This.........is why he has 2 goals in his last 45-50 games.

I'm not sure how good his shot is. While he hasn't had golden chances in the last couple games, he's been robbed multiple times over the course of the year. With his advertised talent, he should have alot more goals than two based on the types of chances he's had.

It will be interesting to see if Evans strings together another impressive performance, and perhaps gives the habs coaching staff another variable to consider when finding a place for Staal in the lineup.

Initially, I was thinking Evans would be the odd man out, and he still may be, but he can make the decision harder if he has another good game tonight.

With Calgary 6 points behind and with the Habs having 5 games in hand a win tonight will drive a serious nail into both Vancouver and Calgary's playoff aspirations.

One of the possible reasons the GDT's died down after that covid break. There is no intrigue left in terms of playoff contenders other than jockeying for position. We are going to see plenty of duds towards the end of the season in this division.

The Leafs would be whining Big Time if we'd just kept Sergachev. No Drouin No Alzner and plenty of dough for Radulov. It makes me sick every time I run it through my head.

Misunderstood me, I’m not pessimistic only pointing out there are ebbs & flows to a season, players like teams get hot & cold, at the end of the day theres a reversion to career trends.

Just as it was unrealistic for anyone to believe Anderson was going to maintain a 40G pace the same is true for Toffoli, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad, they’ve delivered & will continue to deliver to their norms
