Can you give definition s of what you mean by F1 F2 F3

F1 is the player driving the action, either carrying or chasing the puck directly. F2 tries to help with that or tries to get open. F3 is a support to the other 2, usually holding a more defensive position, ready to backcheck for exemple.

Perry/Suzuki/Anderson
Thank you Dom. The London Connection!
Hope this works and stays together a for a bit. Perry will definitely add a different dimension to the line. Just gotta get the puck down low and go to work.

Yes. F1 busts thier azz to get on the puck on forecheck, F2 supports F1 and F3 is the high F waiting for possession or looking to interrupt the breakout.

Staal is finished his quarantine today? He was traded on a Friday, so Staal started his quarantine Saturday or Sunday? I would imagine they want him in a practice, although we have all witnessed players traded and in the game the same day (pre-covid trades of course)

I actually found JD to be more effective in other areas than those 2 except for the past few games.
I have watched JD closely, and it has not been pretty from my perspective. We might be seeing different things, and that's ok. His assists total is good, but also misleading. I am seeing him hustling, but doing nothing, unless he is open and leading a rush. Amazing talent, but just doesn't use it every night. He had an ok start, but has been awful recently.
Very noticeable as the team starts playing better, he doesn't. A pp specialist of sorts. He gets way too much TOI.
Hoping Seattle picks him up....just my 2 cents, I know many agree, and many disagree.
Would love to see him get it going and pick up some goals, he has a great wrist, and snapshot, but he is too far out on the perimeter to use it. He almost never goes to the dirty areas. This.........is why he has 2 goals in his last 45-50 games.

Staal is pencilled in for monday vs the Oilers.

Not sure i like Drouin with KK and Toffoli, this means KK becomes F1, pretty big waste of his skills.

The main problem I see with the forwards is that KK, Suzuki, Drouin, Tatar, Toffoli, Anderson all fit the F2 or F3 role and that only Gallagher and Danault fit that F1 role, its a big flaw that really inhibits offensive chemistry.
I think KK has been F1 over the last couple of games. He carried the puck to the blue line a lot over the last two games, even on the PP, as he was the man at the back waiting for the stupid back pass. Him and Tatar have done this on the PP.

I don't mind KK being the F1 in zone entry, as he's got vision and enough skills to pass Ottawa's trap at the blue line. He needs support from the F2 (Drouin) quickly. I think Toffoli can be a great F3, picking up loose pucks or the trailing pass for a quick shot at net. Heck, him having 92 and 73 besides him is 100 times better.

I find that the kid's confidence has shot through the roof recently. He carries the puck and dishes it with confidence. I mean, he's got to be the player that dishes the most firm passes on the team right now.

He's practicing alone tomorrow and playing Monday, according to the coach.

Big game! A win tonight will all but seal our playoff spot

I wouldn't go that far with how we have played Calgary this year. 1-3-0 with 5 games left, 3 of which are in Calgary. 7.5 games ahead today, with those 5 games worth 10, Calgary can catch up and go ahead. But yes, the Habs are in good position with Calgary continuing to lose and now Vancouver essentially f***ed for the rest of the year.

Huge game tonight. 2 big points available to basically sink the teams behind us. Not going to be easy and could easily be a let down game but if the boys pull through, sets everything up nicely

Especially if you look at next week schedule. 2x Jets, Oil and Leafs in 6 days. Brutal. Need the “easy” points now.

Looks like the 4th line is going to fight for a spot in the line up Monday tonight.
I suspect we see this Monday when Staal joins the line up.

Tatar Danault Gallagher
Drouin Kotkaniemi Toffoli
Staal Suzuki Anderson
2 of Byron Evans Lehkonen + Perry

Suzuki can't win face-off so having Staal center that line or being on the wing and just taking the face-off will definitely help that line.

F1, F2, and F3 roles are way too fluid shift-to-shift to base lineup combinations on them IMO.

Ducharme said that there won't be a team practice tomorrow, but Staal will go and skate.

If Habs collect 26-of remaining-46 points available to them, Cgy would need to collect 29-of-36 or go 14-3-1 to tie Habs.

As the saying goes, la reve est fini...

Like those lines...........some consideration to dropping Drouin to the 4th and moving Perry up to the 3rd line.

I haven't been a huge fan of what the new coaching staff is doing but glad they broke up the Drouin Suzuki Anderson line as it was ice cold.

In the last 15 games,

Drouin - 0 goals
Anderson - 2 goals
Suzuki - 3 goals

Not saying they have been together all 15 just that we must get these 3 guys going if we want to move up in the standings and get home ice in the playoffs.

They finally get the Danault line going so as long as they keep it up, if they can get Suzuki and KK to produce more we are in business.
