I wonder why, against a fast team like Edmonton, one of the best skaters, John Moore ,was a scratch?

I haven't been this pissed about losing a game in a long ass time.

I'm not feeling that way. I wish Richards would have benched Wiz, and done a few things differently, but it was a hard fought close game. And entertaining. And Cam.

Chris Pronger played for 5 different teams.

Wayne Gretzky played for 4 differet teams.

yah your right...he is just like Pronger and Gretzky. Like most bad teams do, Columbus overpaid for the player so fans think he is better then he really is. PS, hate to break it to you but he is hurt all the time as well.

His gaffes have nothing to do with the streak ending when he came back because it ended before he came back.

That is why your post is not based in reality.
We can debate his on ice performance all night. I appreciate the occasional PP goals; but he is certainly not a Pronger or even Jovanoski. He does bring grit but turns the puck over way to much. His injury history bugs me to.
Reality is we are paying way too much for what he adds to this team.
We have a very deep D. We could use those dollars upfront.

You've put words in my mouth, and you didn't break anything to me.

This isn't the 1960's. Professional players bounce around a lot. Bad players and good players alike.

The 4 recurring thoughts in my head tonight were: 'Get Aucoin off the ice', 'Cmon Wiz', '**** Toronto', and 'Can we please just keep 11-42-13 out there the whole game?'

Went back and forth between those the whole game.

damn. just damn.

haven't read through yet, but the boys shoulda had this one. sucks to be ahead 3 different times then lose.

On the bright side, maybe we get the best of both worlds this season- an interesting playoff run, and a top pick? possible only due to a shortened season

damn

5 teams in 7 seasons is alot, you got that part right! He won't be going anywhere for a while as no team will pick up that contract plus he has a no trade clause.

now i've read through. a lot of wiz hate here. I watched the game at a loud bar and half distracted but I'm not going to put a whole lot on Wiz. True, I like the guy and think he brings something to the team that no one else does, so I'm biased, but it was his first game back after a while. Anyone would be rusty.

It does seem fair to question some of Richards decisions. Wiz coming back for one, but more the management of the D against a fast team.

Not having Foligno was noticeable.

It's obvious, but still have to mention the AA-kid line. They were pretty superb.

Why are the Jackets such a different team on the road? The other night vs the Canucks they played enough to just to get the OT Point, and it was a boring game. The Canucks are injury riddled right now, but even so, the CBJ just came out so boring. And then tonight. Why is this such a hard thing for them to win on the road? Why do they play sooo different? They look like such a different team when at home, more energized.

I think it's that they're young and learning. Remember, last season they were a much different team, and they were the worst team. The roster this season is significantly different, and it's quite young. The road is a challenge.

Because we're young, inexperienced, and not good.

Heaven forbid Richards wants some speed when playing a team of undersized 24-year-olds. Richards scratches Gillies when a dose of his grit--especially when we were missing Filigno's--would have worn this Oil team down by end of the second period.

Watch him break up the 4-goal line tomorrow night. Mason finally gets a start; set up for failure after not starting in Vancouver following a respectable relief job in Nashville Saturday.

I love this team, even when guys like #51 are in a stretch of sub-par play, but we need a new coach. Now that we have a real front office I expect we'll get one.

Also: The War Room is another example of why the NHL is the most poorly run major league sport in North America.

I'm not pleased with some of his decisions, but I'd say this is overreaction. I've never seen a coach who didn't make mistakes every now and then, even mistakes where the fans are ahead of him. (BTW, I'll never blame a coach for scratching Gillies or Mason. Erixon is another matter.)

And one last thing: like him or not, Richards is a real coach hired by a real GM.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Wiz cost us a home game earlier this season w/ Edmonton when he came back from a different injury?

Going to have to put a serious winning streak together here folks. This was a winnable game that got away, for whatever reason. It happens. San Jose is playing better, and has separation from us, so if we don't win, say, the next three, say goodnight.

I figure that they have to go 10-4 the rest of the way to even have a shot at getting in. I'm not throwing in the towel in yet either, but that's a steep mountain to climb in a short period of time.

I'm certainly not throwing in the towel, but I think this sums up this team.

These have been my feelings as well.
Bob got hot, not so much the team.
No pink colored glasses.

In my Pre-game Post I noted that we have a strong tendency to play to the level of the competition. The last two games are examples of that.

We got into a scramble withe the Oilers.
What happened to the puck managing team we saw several times against Detroit ?

Last gasp. We are that chicken that hasn't quite realized our head is gone yet.

The Jackets have rediscovered the road in a race.

I don't agree with some of the commentary around here, but they seem to relish dumping on the team. Heck one of them does that while trying to state one of the softest players, could very well be the softest for that matter, on the team is actually part of the solution. We may not be a playoff team yet, but we're aren't "bottom five" in the league.

I'm not surprised or upset by the results, maybe a little disappointed. This, however, makes the decision(s) of what to do at the deadline that much easier.

I think the CBJ really needs to look at a compliance buyout for Umberger. Don't want him wasting 4.6 mill of capspace the next 4 years.

Oh dear. We sure are easy and loose with the owners money. I'll assume by this post, you also expect them to use the cap space after they buy out?

Since cap space isn't an issue, since we aren't a cap team, that really isn't a great reason for a buy out.
