Faulk with 6 giveaways. 6.

Something is off with Faulk this year. He had a rough year last year but you could account a lot of it to injuries. This year he was OK a the start but has been steadily declining. He seems so immobile out there, like he can skate forward and backwards but his side to side mobility is really lacking.

Lol did you see the p***y hiding behind his team mate? Should have grabbed his team mate and beat the f*** out of him to send a message to the entire team that the p***y would prefer his team get hurt than him.

Ok so hear me out, We have Buch/Thomas/Kyrou for our top line and if Dvorsky works out our 2nd line can be Holloway/Dvo/Bolduc or Snuggy

I mean that sounds like the workings of a legit contending top 6.

It will be a miracle if when Snuggerud and Dvorski make the NHL they are difference makers. It should take both a year or 2 of NHL experience before hitting their stride.

When Knies started playing for the Leafs he made an immediate offensive impact in the playoffs and then had a respectable 15 goals and 20 assists his rookie season. If Snuggs and Devo can provide that kind of offense right away it will really help the teams overall offense and scoring 5 on 5 will improve, even if their not stars right away.

Blues Desperately need to get better 5v5 scoring. There is only one player with more than 5 5V5 goals and more than 13 5V5 points on the team over 30 games into the season. There is absolutely no Depth in scoring.
who is that one player?

Some thoughts:

Neighbors simply doesn't work with Thomas/Buch. He doesn't have the skill to keep up with those guys and plays kept dying on his stick. This wasn't the first game we've seen this issue either. We can't neuter our only effective C with wingers who constantly give up the puck and send it back the other way, like that game we tried out Texier with Thomas. Please put Holloway or Bolduc with Thomas/Buch. Please.

The first goal is the type of goal we see in today's NHL that would never have gone in 5-7 years ago with the different sized goalie equipment. Sucks it happened against us, but it's better for the game overall if you can still score on an angle with a goalie 2 feet outside the blue paint.

This team is running on fumes, and I don't think we've had much practice time since Monty became our coach. I keep seeing guys making tired mistakes, taking angles and routes that we weren't taking 10ish games ago when Monty became HC. We look very disjointed in the offensive zone again, with a lack of cohesion and gameplan outside of Thomas. The Christmas break can't come soon enough.

I'm still happy about the Fowler trade. As I said, it was a responsible trade if we're trying to help this team grow. There's no way we could trot out Suter for 25+ minutes much longer and he's looking perfectly reasonable in his new, lower stress role.

Faulk and Saad have both been underwhelming all year. Faulk has been leaned on heavily since Monty came on and he simply hasn't been up to the challenge. Two more seasons after this one....not looking good. Saad played the second lowest minutes and was a -2. He was a total ghost. Really disappointed in him, he used to be so reliable, but I think age has caught up to him.

I just feel like if they’re serious about making the playoffs they need a 3rd line center upgrade at some point. Is there any good 3c’s out there that could be had?

Upgrade 3c and Saad’s roster spot and we might have something cooking.

I wouldn’t mind calling up someone from Springfield like Sylvagard at this point to see what he looks like in the NHL. Can’t be much worse than Torpo or Saad.

Right now? I don't think so. Right now 10th in the league (Dallas with 38 points) and 24th in the league (NYI with 31 points) are separated by only 7 points. Until a team starts completely falling apart I don't see any super major trades happening. Fowler and Trouba trades felt like trades that HAD to happen when they did due to surrounding circumstances going on in the locker rooms. I don't see teams fully selling off until Mid January at the absolute earliest.

I’ve been wanting to see Bolduc on a line with Thomas for a while now.

Don’t worry he makes up for it with his ONE point 5 on 5 this season. 5 points as the QB on the 1st PP unit and 1 six on five point.

He is a complete liability every game for the 3rd season in a row. We couldn’t pay any team to take him.

I wouldn't Mind Buch-Thomas-Bolduc and Holloway-Schenn-Kyrou.

Its just scoring we are missing, full stop.. We are the 5th worst team in Goals per game. We are actually slightly better 5v5, only the 6th worst team in GF/60 5v5.

We don't have any truly high-end scorer and our depth is abysmal. Kyrou is our leading scorer but only 47th in the NHL. After our top 6 forwards and out top 2 D, we have nobody else on track for 30 points this season. Thomas is pacing to be high-end, but he missed a bunch of time.

Why care about 3C when we need a 2C? lol

It would certainly be nice. I think Snuggie may have a better chance of doing that than Devo though.

If he can similarly improve center short term without dealing a 1st or top prospect, I think he'd love to do it. But seemingly only time an opportunity to acquire that type of player is when they have scary contract.
So what would we be giving up to get that player? We don’t have seconds. Thirds have negligible value. Anything beyond that is toppers.

Saad had 12 minutes 30 seconds of ice time and had a -2. I am sad that this is how his time as a Blue is coming to an end.
Happens when players age, see also Faulk, Schenn, Sunny, etc.

It would seem that the new coach bump has subsided. Blues will settle into 6th in the Central and we’ll all start looking at possibilities for pick 14-16.

It's very cool that Armstrong wants to squeeze every drop of juice out of this team and it still isn't good enough for the playoffs.

My only contribution. But Faulk was passing the eye test for at least the first 15 games. And while Broberg has turned out to be excellent, I have to credit some to Faulk for seemingly being an easy partner to play with. Not to mention how many shifts Faulk took with Perun. I wouldn't be surprised if he is playing hurt.
