Hab fan base are brutal. Two threads on Marchand and Krug- crying and looking for a suspension. No talk of the hit on McQuaid that was similar to Patches and they had the entire police force out after Chara or the hit on Marchand which was a low bridge by Emilin. Wow! Just amazingly one sided view.

One sided, but totally expected. *****ing about the Bruins is what they do best. Makes getting 2 points that much sweeter.

Good win for you guys. I've had soft spot for the Bruins ever since you guys beat the Canucks in finals. Always loved Thomas and Chara and as a Finn I have great respect for Rask. And man is he doing great. I was sure that your D would collapse this season, but doesn't seem like it.

Certainly didn't see that coming. That is a huge gutsy win from the boys.

The Goods:
- Rask, such a huge game for him in so many ways
- Krug, I would pay this man for that hit every day if I could. Really loved him stepping up on this one, not only the hit but the fight after. Emelin should take note and stop being a *****. You throw big hits in this game, you need to answer the bell sometimes. I don't care if your plate faced.
- Spooner, didn't think his game overall was great, but big on him stepping up on both goals
- Pasta, didn't like him on this line at all, but that freakin slap shot, oh my

The Bads:
- Refs, absolutely so far over their head in this game, bordering fixed
- DK - the only bright spot I"m hoping for is we make playoffs and he turns into an animal
- Marchy - Thought this was one of his worst games he's played unfortunately, just couldn't seem to get anything going
- Chara - The analogy that pops in my head is he's a little kids battery operated 4x4 they ride trying to play in a Nascar race. Carlo did a great job on his side tonight.
- Shaller - Certainly helped bringing down that DK line tonight, thought he was really bad unfortunately
- And last but not least, the Habs fans calling out the hit on Shaw like the Emelin hit on Pasta never happened. They were literally identical hits and if you don't like one you can't like the other.

I would really like to see someone let Emilen know that he can't get away with those hits. I mean Krug had a good response (and clean hit) but 88 and 63 are our top scorers. Maybe someone should run Paches and Radulov and send a message .....

A fight between Krug and Gallagher (if you can call it that) doesn't really settle anything.

I guess checking from behind is allowed at the Bell Centre.....???.....

Highlight for me was the fact that they tried take away not 1 but 2 overtime goals... Just when you think you have seen it all ......

I just want to mention the blocked shot at the end of the game by Pasta. This kid continues to impress me.

It's baffling with some of the hits our players have taken over the years, how we come out of that game down 5-1 in PPs, regularly have borderline goals called back, and have the NHL review our hits but not hits on our players.

Over the past three seasons how many times has our puck carrier been hooked, held, tripped, and boarded with no PPs or hearings?

If our player is on the other side it's an automatic penalty, quickly taken to the main boards, listed on NHL.com as being reviewed, with a likely hearing to follow.

It's comical. It does make a difference no matter how hard the players battle through and occasionally overcome it (see last night).

Loved seeing Radulov get turnstiled by Spooner on the winning goal!!

Jamie McLelland with TSN highlighted and roasted Radulov for his poor defensive play on the entire shift in OT that led to Spooner's goal. Complete lack of awareness and effort. Shades of his Nashville days all over. Thank you AR!

He also strongly felt the Krug hit on Shaw was larger due to the position Shaw placed himself in when Krug was in the process of delivering a check. Infactic that there will be no supplementary discipline for Krug. Let's hope that though prevails with Quintel and company.

Listening to Team 1200 here in Ottawa, both of the local hosts said that Krug's hit on Shaw was clean. They said that Shaw reached out to poke the puck ahead and while doing so lowered his head, how could Krug be at fault. If Krug does get a suspension, our management had better step up and ridicule Quintal. Of course, Quintal will say that he excused himself from this decision because of his ties to both teams.

This is why I think it was a good hit. In my opinion, it's sort of like turning your back when you're near the boards and getting hit from behind. The player getting hit put himself in a vulnerable position. A collision on that play was almost inevitable because both guys were going hard to the same spot. If Krug pulls up and doesn't follow through with the hit Shaw pokes the puck ahead and possibly goes in on a breakway.

If that's a suspendable hit then this really will become the No Hit League. I'm all for eliminating head shots. I used to love a good Scott Stevens hit but with the knowledge we have about head injuries now, those hits have no place in sports and players targeting the head should be suspended. Having said that, when a player sticks out his head like Shaw did, the onus is on them to protect themselves. Otherwise, we're going to have guys leading with their head because they know the defending player can't touch them. With scoring down, maybe that's what the league wants though.

Exactly. If you read the thread about the emelin hit the other night then look at the krug thread they completely change their stance on everything... Everything is legal when it's a hab doing the hitting but nothing is okay when a hab gets touched.

Other than the fact that they played a more physical game against the Habs, they still play an especially slow and systematic style against them. Rask isn't a God, we don't win.

Really happy they won, but it doesn't leave me inspired.

Quote from reporter Daniel Goffenberg on the game.

"While the Coyotes-Penguins game was a laugher, the Canadiens and Bruins played one of the best games of the season in Montreal."

Hard not to be inspired with a performance like that against one of the conference front running teams, at least to this point of the season. Played in their building where the Habs record at home is now 14-1-2 this year. Not easy to win there but the Bruins just did exactly that. With all the predictions of the blow out the Bruins would face in this game, I'm plenty inspired.

Keep pushing yourself hard Bruins!

Has been for decades for the Canadiens, hypocrisy is the specialty of their crying media and fanbase that sees a team that do no wrong and is always the victim. Middelton smashed his face into Chris Nilans stick to draw a penalty, Nilan was misunderstood, like C.Lemieux, Emelin, Momesso, Corson, Shaw, Chelios, and on and on and on. It's hasn't changed and it never will.

As much as I love the city of Montreal and the people, and as much as I love the passion they have for the game, the years of playing victim has gotten very, very old.

This game also showed why they need Randell or someone like him in the lineup, I mention Randell because through about the same number of games the Bruins have played this year he scored 6 goals last year which would have him tied on the team for third in goals.

Game has gone soft but there is still a place for a guy who can fight and score.

Yeah the NHL is definitely against the B's or so it seems anyway especially since Quintal got on the discipline board. It really boggles the mind how so many dirty hits by hab players go uncalled and the usual BS propaganda by the TV announcers don't ever mention it, but the Bruins lay a hard but clean hit and they are all over it. Emelin is a dirty player plain and simple, he low bridges people all the time and gets a way with it, guaranteed if Marchand had delivered a hit like that he gets a suspension. Shaw the biggest punk in the league lays out a dirty hit on McQuaid then runs away, Radulov same thing. NHL needs to take a look at the officiating in games, especially involving the habs, they always get the benefit of most calls. Price gets hit in OT like Rask and you know a penalty is called, just total garbage.

The Bruins so Jekyll & Hyde. Almost give the Habs only their second regulation loss at home all year, instead give them their third home loss overall. Were a minute away from taking them to OT earlier this year. They had the Flyers beat at home which would have blown up their current win streak, definitely the closest to beating them during the streak. They come back and tie the Caps at D.C., could have won. Then they lay stinkers at home to Avs and Leafs. I wish they could play them all on the road this year. Probably like their chances on road at Pitt better than at home vs. Ducks and Kings.

I was glad to see that even Jimmy Hayes involved while on the ice especially on the final OT goal...:handclap:

I would've LOVED to see McQauid ragdoll one of those pukes tonight.

Credit where credit is due. Have ripped him along with many others, and rightly so, I would suggest, given his overall performance this year. He did get up the ice as the third man and forced the D to cover Krecji. Hayes got into position as an option for AC. Krecji drew a delayed penalty on the play which may have proved to be big had they not scored. If you are in the line up find a way to contribute, even if it's one small play at an important time, especially when things aren't going well for you.

Amazed that they won.

Can't believe the friggin refs had to go back and review that two bruins OT goals.

Rask and Pasta are driving this team.

Czarnik caught a bit of a break on his goal, but was great to see after price stopped him on a near identical shot. I was waiting for York to eat his words after saying Price spots those shots every time..

I might be in a minority here, but I really wish the Bruins had signed Radulov for one year vs Backes for 5. Hindsight, but damn would he mom good with Krejci and Pastrnak.

Also would love to have signed Paul Byron of only so he never plays against the bruins again.

Watch his terribly poor play in his own end in OT. Really glad they did not pursue him as an option. Claude would be in cardioic arrest several times in a game with that effort LOL.

Good news

They won

Emelin attempt to take out our top 2 players failed for a night although who knows how 63 & 88 feel this morning

Montreal is good and hateable - I kind of like it

The game is in the conversation for one of the most poorly officiated I've ever watched in the NHL

I only watched the 3rd and OT. An absolute playoff feel. SO many penalties missed. There was a moment where the puck was being moved out of the bruins defensive zone and a bruin was just pasted to the ground from behind at the blue line (you only saw a little of it) and I screamed. and when they waved off the goal in OT and I saw the ref I screamed "BRAD ******* MEIER. I KNEW IT." If the kids hadn't been home I would have used another word for him. He's from my hometown. I can't stand him as a referee. When Spooner score I just burst out a "WOOOOO". And then they review the other goal and I went bonkers again (11 year old was in bed point). I had actually considered saying "If they disallow this goal I'll never watch NHL again." But I didn't. :)

Honestly, there was nothing new under the sun in this game. The disgustingly poor officiating is something that I learned to expect vs. the Habs. As far back as I can remember this has been going on to some degree.

No excuses offered for the plenty of missed calls. However, commented in the GD thread last night that it is practically suicide to take to the ice in today's game as an official. Is it not time to remove some bodies from the ice? Place some officials upstairs and rely on the ever expanding technology used in games coupled with the clearer view they would get from on high.

Trying to see game action while you bob and weave to stay out of harms way out of fear for your life is near impossible. Have seen more officials getting injured in recent years because they can not get out of the way than at any other point. The game is simply too fast with ever increasing size of players To be able to effectively do there job. It continually shows up as a major obstacle game in and game out for all officials. It's one that is not likely to be overcome without taking a different approach.

This is a game the Bruins can build off of. Getting the win through all of that garbage should be a huge boast!

Oh and I want to mention Rask getting bulled over ...... with again no call in OT ....
