Oh he was. He actually got a reprieve from his cancer (pancreatic cancer is not often that kind) and we went to a bunch of games in 1999-2000. The tough SOB fought it for two years, and was buried with Red Sox and Bruins tickets in his pocket. I can still feel him with me today watching the games. And yes, he would have hated Plate Face Emelin with the heat of 1000 suns.

I'm sorry he didn't make it, I'm sure you miss him a lot. I just lost my dad and it is tough.

100% right. The only difference between that and the Salo hit is 6'2 Emelin went even lower on a 5'9" guy.

People can call me a conspiracy theorist or crazy or whatever but there is an obvious standard bias in this league against certain players.

I don't trust the DoPS to be neutral after all of these emails that leaked. Not just the recent Bob Mackenzie ones but even going back to Colin Campbells hate for Savard prior to him being on the bruins. To this day, I have a belief that that effected the departments decision making with Cooke.

Look at Thornton/Orpik. Thornton got his 10 games because he's not a star in this league. 10 games with no prior history. Holtby gets flat out assaulted by Emery in a fight that Holtby wanted no part in. Nothing happened.

Price assaults the NJ player, hits him in the head and back with a blocker, pushing him face first in to the ice. Nothing.

Exactly. Sugar gives a gloves on love tap to Orpik the Fainting Goat and gets 10. Carey the Magnificent bops a guy multiple times with what is essentially a 2x12 covered in leather and gets nothing

Very sorry to hear your dad had to deal with that horrid disease. I can fully relate. Wonderful ending you provided for your father following his journey. I'm sure he would have though it was a perfect send off for any lifelong fan who simply had a love for and found so much enjoyment with the Bruins and Sox.
Very nice touch.
Thanks for sharing.
